Abstract: An image pickup unit of the present invention includes an image sensor, a connection board, a circuit board, a cable, and protection material. If an external force acts in a direction orthogonal to an extension direction of the cable, the whole of the circuit board, which is a rigid body, is displaced relative to an electrode portion of the image sensor by the external force. In response to the displacement of the circuit board, the connection board is displaced so that a curve radius of a curved portion changes, between a first land portion connected to the image sensor and a second land portion connected to the circuit board, and thereby a load by the external force transmitted to the image sensor from the cable through the circuit board is reduced.
