    Abstract: An apparatus configured to: receive, from a serving network, an indication that multiple non-serving network gaps that overlap in time are able to be used substantially simultaneously; detect a gap collision between at least one serving network gap and at least one non-serving network gap; in response to a determination that operation on the at least one serving network gap is required to fulfill at least one requirement associated with the at least one serving network gap, perform operations in the serving network using the at least one serving network gap; and in response to a determination that operation on the at least one serving network gap is not required to fulfill the at least one requirement associated with the at least one serving network gap, perform operations in a non-serving network using the at least one non-serving network gap.

    Abstract: At a UE configured with an idle-mode configuration for using a PUR, determining that data not associated with the PUR is to be transmitted or received via an RRC connection. The UE performs an initial access to a network for the radio resource control connection. The UE transitions from RRC idle mode to RRC connected mode. The UE performs one of suspending the idle-mode configuration or maintaining the idle-mode configuration, for at least a duration of the RRC connected mode. A base station received the initial access, determines the UE is configured with the idle-mode configuration for using a PUR and transitions the UE from RRC idle mode to RRC connected mode. The base station performs communication between the base station and the UE to perform action(s) to modify one or both of the idle-mode configuration or an RRC connection corresponding to the transition into the RRC connected mode.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the resource configuration for Narrow Band Internet of Thing (NB-IoT). A method of resource configuration for NB-IoT includes determining, at a network device, whether a configured Uplink Resource (PUR) for transmission from a terminal device to the network device is to be adjusted; in response to determining that the PUR is to be adjusted, determining a set of resources to be allocated for further transmission from the terminal device to the network device based on a Transport Block Size (TBS) associated with the further transmission; generating reconfiguration information of the PUR based on the set of the resources; and transmitting the reconfiguration information to the terminal device. In this way, the resource configuration may be determined and adjusted more efficiently and flexibility compared to the conventional way.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for data transmission are presented. The method in a base station comprises broadcasting (200) information on one or more neighboring cells supporting preconfigured uplink resources and information on request types supported by the one or more cells; receiving (202) a user terminal which performs a cell reselection to the base station; receiving (204) from a user terminal a request to utilize dedicated preconfigured uplink resources, the request comprising Physical Cell Identity of the previous base station with which the user terminal utilized dedicated preconfigured uplink resources prior camping on the base station and the User Equipment Identification of the user terminal in the previous base station; transmitting (206) to the previous base station a message requesting configuration data related to dedicated preconfigured uplink resources of the user terminal and an indication that the previous base station may release the resources; receiving (208) from the previous base station the configuration data; and restoring (210) dedicated preconfigured uplink resources for the user terminal.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for contention based shared preconfigured uplink resource configuration. An example method includes receiving an assignment of contention based shared preconfigured uplink resources; receiving an assignment of a common radio network temporary identifier for monitoring downlink control information indicating a negative acknowledgement for contention based shared transmission, and a dedicated radio network temporary identifier for monitoring downlink control information indicating an acknowledgement of transmission of uplink data; transmitting the uplink data using a physical uplink shared channel allocated for the contention based shared preconfigured uplink resource transmission; in response to the downlink control information indicating the negative acknowledgement and uplink grants for multiple physical uplink shared channel resources, retransmitting the uplink data on a selected one of the received uplink grants; and in response to the downlink control information indicating the acknowledgment, not retransmitting the uplink data.
