The base (30) for an injection molding machine includes, two side frames (40) extending parallel with the axis of a drive actuator (16). Each of the side frames (40) includes a lower flange (44) supported by a bed (11), an upper flange (45) disposed parallel with the lower flange (44), at least two webs (46) connecting the upper flange (45) and the lower flange (44), and a web reinforcing member (47) fixed to the webs (46) while penetrating the webs (46).

    Abstract: A mold-clamping machine 10 includes a stationary mount 13, a movable mount 18, a mold-clamping mechanism 15 and a mold opening-and-closing mechanism 16. The mold-clamping mechanism 15 includes a cylindrical constraining mechanism 30. The constraining mechanism 30 has a magnet mechanism built therein. By causing a current to flow or not flow, the constraining mechanism 30 changes to an unconstrained state or to a constraining state. In the unconstrained state, the mold-clamping mechanism 15 is movable relative to a tie bar 19 and along the tie bar 19. In the constrained state, the mold-clamping mechanism 15 becomes unmovable relative to the tie bar 19. The magnet mechanism positions the mold-clamping mechanism at an arbitrary position over the tie bar.
