Photoconductive coating compositions for application to solid substrates which are to be utilized in electrophotographic operations are described; the resultant photoconductive coatings comprise a layer of photoconductive pigment particles bonded to themselves and to the solid substrate with a binder comprising a novel interpolymer, at least one of whose constituent monomers contains bromine. Novel bromine-containing monomers are also disclosed.

ACYL DERIVATIVES OF THE CONDENSATION POLYMERS OF ALPHAHYDROXYPROPIONIC ACID WITH BETA-HYDROXYBUTYRIC ACID AND/OR BETA-HYDROXYPROPIONIC ACID, AS WELL AS THE ALKALI METAL, ALKALINE-EARTH METAL AND AMMONIUM SALTS THEREOF; THE LATTER DERIVATIVES SERVING AS FOOD EMULSIFIERS AND AS SHORTENING AIDS. A PROCESS FOR PREPARING BAKED GOODS AS WELL AS THE BAKED GOODS RESULTING THEREFROM, SAID PROCESS COMPRISING THE INCORPORATION OF THE ABOVE SPECIFIED DERIVATIVES INTO THE RAW DOUGH MIX PRIOR TO THE BAKING THEREOF. THE RESULTING BAKED GOODS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR PROLONGED RETENTION OF FRESHNESS, FINE TEXTURE, GOOD COLOR AND SUBSTANTIAL VOLUME.

Carboxamido-aziridine compounds comprising the products resulting from the reaction of an alkylenimine such as ethylenimine with an intermediate adduct comprising the reaction product of an non-florinated alcohol reagent such as lauryl alcohol and a polyisocyanate reagent such as tobylene diisocyanate. The resulting carboxamido compounds impart water repellency to a wide variety of substrates.
