摘要: An outboard motor fuel vapor separator-venting system that vents fuel vapor from a fuel vapor separator through a vapor relief valve. The vapor relief valve allows vapor to gradually be delivered from the vapor separator to an air induction system depending on the amount of air entering the air induction system and/or engine speed. The vapor relief valve does not allow fuel vapor to vent from the fuel vapor separator to the air induction system when the engine is not operating.

摘要: A fuel supply apparatus is adapted to control a pump which discharges fuel from a tank to a fuel passage, thereby regulating the pressure of fuel to be supplied to an engine. The tank includes a plurality of storage chambers, in a specific one of which the pump is placed. A part of the fuel discharged to the fuel passage is returned to the specific storage chamber through a branch passage. A storage chamber other than the specific storage chamber is in communication with the branch passage through a communication passage. A jet pump is operated to transfer the fuel from the storage chamber other than the specific storage chamber to the specific storage chamber through the communication passage by the action of the fuel flowing through the branch passage. An electronic control unit (ECU) controls an electromagnetic valve disposed in the branch passage to regulate the quantity of return flow, thereby delivering the fuel in a quantity corresponding to a consumption quantity of fuel to be sequentially consumed in the engine, to the engine through the communication passage.

摘要: In an ignition device for an engine 1, a spark plug 14 is operated to emit sparks with respect to the fuel-air mixture, so that the fuel-air mixture is ignited. A protrusion 19 provided on a flywheel 6 mounted on a crankshaft 5 is revolved with the rotation of the crankshaft 5. A magnet pickup 21 detects the passage of the protrusion 19. When the protrusion 19 passes near the magnet pickup 21, the magnet pickup 21 outputs a detection signal, in a pulse manner, having a peak value in response to the passing speed of the protrusion. When the detection signal outputted from the magnet pickup 21 exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the electronic control unit (ECU) 18 operates to activate the spark plug 14 through an ignition coil 15 so that the ignition timing is advanced or delayed in accordance with the difference in rotational speed of the shaft 5, i.e., of the engine 1.

摘要: A fuel supply apparatus for engines of a multi-point injection system using fuel tanks of many sizes and shapes is disclosed. In the fuel supply apparatus, a pump device 10 is constructed of an electric motor-driven fuel pump 10, a fuel filter 49, and a pressure regulator 21, which are contained in a housing integrally constructed of a first and second cases 11 and 12. A suction port 15 of the pump device 10 communicates with a suction opening 24 of the fuel pump 19, while a discharge outlet portion 26 of the pump device 10 communicates with a discharge port 17 through the fuel filter 49. The discharge port 17 communicates with an inlet of the pressure regulator 21. An outlet of the pressure regulator 21 communicates with a return port 16 of the pump device 10.

摘要: In a fuel pump control apparatus provided by the present invention, if a target fuel pressure is changed, processing is carried out to determine whether the target fuel pressure has been increased or decreased so that proper transient state control can be executed. If the target fuel pressure has been increased, a fuel pump is driven by a maximum driving signal till the pressure of fuel reaches 90% of a new higher target fuel pressure. If the target fuel pressure has been decreased, on the other hand, the fuel pump is driven by a minimum driving signal till the pressure of fuel reaches 110% of a new lower target fuel pressure. In either case, transition state control is executed thereafter to drive the fuel pump at a duty ratio determined on the basis of an injection flow rate and the target fuel pressure till a predetermined delay time lapses. After the transition state control is finished, a steady state control is restored. In the steady state control, the duty ratio is determined on the basis of the pressure of the supplied fuel and the target fuel pressure. As a result, the fuel pump control apparatus provided by the present invention is capable of well keeping up with a change in supplied fuel pressure required by the internal combustion engine while allowing the cost and the size thereof to be reduced.
