Abstract:
A multifunction electronic watch 10 having a large variety of added functions, and providing an electronic watch and drive method therefor that have a high value as a product and a configuration enabling separate use of an energy-saving mode and a function information operating mode, this electronic watch 10 having a reference signal generation means 1, a time information generation means 2, which generates time information TJ based on a reference signal S3R from the reference signal generation means 1, a function information generation means for generating function information FJ, a display drive means 4, which outputs drive signals DRT and DRF for the purpose of displaying the function information FJ and the time information TJ on an appropriate display means, and a display means 5, which displays the function information FJ and the time information TJ based on the drive signals DRT and DRF from the display drive means 4, this electronic watch having an energy-saving operating condition with a power consumption that is less than an normal operating condition, wherein the function operating condition of the function information generation means is given priority over the energy-saving operating condition.
Abstract:
A radio correcting timepiece that can reduce the influence of a radio wave situation of the standard radio wave having time information according to an area, and can make a correction to the exact time in a shorter time is provided. The radio correcting timepiece comprises a signal receiving means (1) for receiving a standard radio wave and a timepiece means (2) for correcting and displaying time on the basis of the time information outputted from the signal receiving means. The signal receiving means (1) can receive plural standard radio waves and includes memory means (1I) which is able to store signal receiving order of the plural standard radio waves. Since the plural standard radio waves can be received, the influence of a radio wave situation according to an area can be reduced and a correction to the exact time can be made in a shorter time by using the standard radio wave transmitted every minute.
Abstract:
An electronic watch with a meter function, capable of a multifunctional display, wherein the dial of the watch is divided into a data display region and a mode display region and the area for displaying the mode, and the area for displaying functional quantities are increased to make the graduations easier to read, with one hand indicating a data display region for data corresponding to physical quantities, and one hand indicating the mode region.
Abstract:
A data transmission/reception system for wrist-type electronic timepiece. The data transmission/reception system for electronic timepieces comprises a data transmission device for generating data signals, and an electronic timepiece that receives data signals from the data transmission device by utilizing a coil for driving the hands, wherein the electronic timepiece is provided with a timing signal-generating means which generates a timing signal, and the data transmission device is provided with a timing signal-receiving means which receives the timing signals output from said hand-driving coil and transmits data signals in synchronism with the timing signals that are received. The data are transmitted and received in an ordinary hand-moving state without halting the timepiece while the functions are being operated. Therefore, there is no need of adjusting the time after the operation of the functions.
Abstract:
A display device incorporating an electrochromic display cell is provided with means whereby each segment electrode of the electrochromic display cell can be set into a completely electrically isolated state after a condition of coloration of a corresponding display element has been established. Since no leakage current is permitted to flow between the segment electrode and the drive transistors coupled thereto, a charge is stored on the segment electrode which maintains the coloration condition over a considerably longer period of time than has been possible hitherto, thus enabling an electrochromic display device to be realized having a very low level of power consumption.
Abstract:
A first voltage detector detects whether the voltage of a secondary cell has reached to 1.2V and a first timer counts a time duration for which the voltage is equal to or above 1.2V. If the time counted by the first timer reaches one hour, a second timer starts counting time for one hour. An amount of charge accumulated in the secondary cell is displays after counting of the one hour by the second timer is over. As a result, an accurate display of the amount of charge accumulated in the secondary cell can be achieved.
