    摘要： A storage apparatus has a plurality of storage media including each storage area in which a stripe is set extending over the storage area of the plurality of storage media. An access unit that writes a format data into the storage area, wherein when the plurality of storage media are formatted, the access unit writes an unformatted-state identifier indicating incompletion of formatting into at least a portion of storage area to be included in the stripe, or when the storage area to be included in the stripe is accessed for writing new data, the access unit reads out existing data stored in the storage area included in the stripe to be accessed. And when the unformatted-state identifier is detected from the existing data that has been read out, the access unit writes the new data or the format data to be written by formatting into the storage area.

    摘要： The invention provides a cylinder bore spraying apparatus capable of carrying out honing processing and finishing after a sprayed film is formed in a cylinder bore in a state where the cylinder bore is deformed by a dummy head. A sprayed film is formed on an inner peripheral surface of a cylinder bore by a spraying gun in a state where a dummy head is pressed against a cylinder block such that a cylinder head is fastened to the cylinder block by a bolt. Thereby, a deformed state of a cylinder bore is simulated. A protection mask prevents the sprayed film from adhering to the dummy head and is detachably attached to the liner hole of the dummy head.

    摘要： Embodiments of the invention use a gas flow to prevent adherence of a coating to portions of an engine block adjacent to a cylinder bore being coated with the coating. Embodiments may be particularly useful for applying a coating on the inner surface of the cylinder bores in one cylinder bank while protecting cylinder bores in an opposing cylinder bank, e.g., in a V-type engine. One method of applying a coating to an engine block comprises spraying the coating on an inner surface of a first cylinder bore of the engine block. The method further comprises shielding a second cylinder bore of the engine block from the sprayed a coating with a gas flow while spraying the coating on the inner surface of the first cylinder bore.

    摘要： A brake system includes a front and a rear wheel brake circuit which are independent of each other. Each circuit includes: a master cylinder connected to a brake caliper through the main brake line; a hydraulic pressure modulator which causes an electrically-operated motor to generate hydraulic pressure; and a normally-open electromagnetic on-off valve. When the two brake circuits are moved in response to operation of a braking operation unit in one circuit, in the brake circuit for which a braking operation unit was operated earlier, the electromagnetic on-off valve opens so that the brake caliper is operated by use of hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder. In the other brake circuit, the electromagnetic on-off valve is closed so that the brake caliper is operated by use of hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pressure modulator. The braking system uses simple wheel braking mechanism and piping, and concurrently reduces electric current consumption.
