The promotional strip may be disposed either between the folded bag edges forming the gusset or outside of the gusset, and may or may not be perforated.

In bags have gusseted side edges the ad strips are attached within or above the gussets either by heat sealing the strip to the bottom seal and adhering the other end of the strip at the upper end of the bag or adhering the strip to the bag at both ends. In non-gusseted bags, the strips are either heat sealed to the bottom seal and adhered to the upper end of the bag or the strips are adhered at both ends to the front or rear surfaces of the bag. In gusseted T-shirt type handle bags, the intermediate portion of the ad strip is adhered to either the inside or the outside of the gusset. The strips include promotional advertising on at least one surface and include perforations allowing the advertising to be removed from the remainder of the strip.

A series of interleaved roll mounted bags and dispenser for them are described. The bags are folded longitudinally and rolled switch an upper portion of each bag located above a lower portion of a succeeding bag. The compact roll of bags is placed in a tray like dispenser with the upper end of the outermost bag extending over either of the font or back wall of the dispenser. As the upper portion of the first bag is pulled from the roll, the bag roll will rotate, presenting the succeeding bag for dispensing after the first bag is removed. In a variant of the invention, the rolled bags are gusseted T-shirt style shopping bags. These T-shirt bags have top and bottom seals, gusseted sides, a U-shaped cutout at the top seam, an open mouth and a pair of bag handles. Variations of the dispenser include a simple tray or box with an top, and various designs of wireform trays. In other variants, the dispenser includes a bag guide extending from a front wall of the dispenser to a rear wall of the dispenser. The bag guide may be curved, V-shaped, a rounded U-shape or a square U-shape. The dispenser may be attached to a surface with screws or nails extending through openings in the supports for the dispenser or glue tabs may be used for attachment. Weighted feet are used to secure the dispenser in a final variant.

A method and means for dispensing plastic T-shirt type shopping bags which are in several different packs, each pack having bags of the same size, but different packs having bags of different sizes, the means comprising a rack having a supported transverse bar behind and below which are provided, for example, three downwardly extending hooking elements spaced from each other and centrally aligned with the bar. The bags of the smallest size are hooked over the uppermost hooking element by their central detachable upper edge closures, and brought up and draped over the mounting plate in reverse position. The bags of the next larger size are hooked over the next lower hooking element and brought up over the mounting plate and draped over the smallest bags. Similarly, the bags of the next larger size bag pack are hooked on the next lower hooking element and draped in reverse position over the second pack of bags. The bags are then folded forward from their reverse positions over a transverse bar to cause them to hang downwardly over and parallel to the bags of the largest bag pack in front of the hooking elements. A large part of their lower portions is draped over the transverse bar. Removal of a bag of any size is accomplished by grasping the top downwardly hanging bag of the desired size and pulling it out from the draped bags and detaching it from its closure over the hooking element.

A wire frame plastic bag dispenser includes an angled lower bag roll support urging perforated, rolled plastic bags toward a bag roll restraining element attached to the frame. A constraining movement element prevents lateral movement of the bag roll. A perforation parting means separates bags as they are pulled from the roll. The bags may be folded along at least one vertical axis to form a more compact bag roll and may have a chisel cut in the perforation to aid in separation by the perforation parting means. The frame includes four corners each of approximately 90 degrees, has a C shape in a horizontal plane, and includes a dispensing end, a back end, and two sides. The lower bag roll support includes a proximal end attached to the back end and extends downwardly to a distal end. The perforation parting means may be located outwardly from the dispensing end of the frame.
