    Abstract: A method and apparatus for cooling a hydrocarbon stream such as natural gas. An initial hydrocarbon stream is passed through a first separator to provide an initial overhead stream and a mixed hydrocarbon feed stream. The initial overhead stream is cooled to provide a cooled hydrocarbon stream such as LNG, and at least a C1 overhead stream and one or more C2, C3 and C4 overhead streams are separated from the mixed hydrocarbon feed stream. At least a fraction of at least one of the group comprising: the C2 overhead stream, the C3 overhead stream and the C4 overhead stream is cooled with the C1 overhead stream to provide a cooled stream, which is further cooled against at least a fraction of the cooled, preferably liquefied, hydrocarbon stream to provide an at least partly liquefied cooled stream.

    Abstract: A condensed mixed hydrocarbon feed stream (10), recovered from an initial feed stream (8), is fractionated into one ore more fractionated streams. In this process, the condensed mixed hydrocarbon feed stream (10) is separated into at least a first part-feed stream (20) and a second part-feed stream (30). The first part-feed stream (20) is passed into a first gas/liquid separator (14), to provide at least a first fractionated stream in the form of a first gaseous overhead stream (40). A first bottom liquid stream (50) provided by the first gas/liquid separator (14) is passed into a second gas/liquid separator (22) to provide at least a second fractionated stream in the form of a second gaseous overhead stream (70), which is cooled by heat exchange (26) against the second part-feed stream (30).

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for cooling a hydrocarbon stream such as natural gas.     Abstract: A gaseous hydrocarbon stream (10) is cooled to produce a liquefied hydrocarbon stream (20). The gaseous hydrocarbon stream (10) is cooled in one or more heat exchangers (140a) using a first refrigerant from a first refrigerant circuit (100) in which said first refrigerant is compressed in a first compressor (110) driven by a first gas turbine (120) having a first inlet air stream (125) and liquefied using a second refrigerant circuit (200) wherein a second refrigerant is compressed in a second compressor (210) driven by a second gas turbine (220) and having a second inlet air stream (225). The cooling duty available in a stream of a chilled coolant (320) is divided over at least first (340) and second (350) parts in accordance with a common input parameter, and one or both of said first and second inlet air streams (125, 225) are cooled with the chilled coolant (320), whereby the cooling duty available in the first part (340) is used to cool the first inlet air stream (125), and the cooling duty available in the second part (350) is used to cool the second inlet air stream (225).

    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for treating a hydrocarbon stream having methane, at least a part of the hydrocarbon stream and a main refrigerant stream are cooled by indirect heat exchanging against a pre-cooling refrigerant. The pre-cooled hydrocarbon stream is passed to a first inlet of an extraction column, and an effluent stream is discharged from the extraction column. The effluent stream and at least a part of the pre-cooled main refrigerant stream are passed to a further heat exchanger, where they are both cooled thereby providing a cooled methane-enriched hydrocarbon stream and at least one cooled main refrigerant stream. The passing of the effluent stream to the further heat exchanger and the passing of the pre-cooled hydrocarbon stream to the first inlet of the extraction column includes indirectly heat exchanging the effluent stream against the pre-cooled hydrocarbon stream.
