Abstract: An apparatus and method to reliably attach an electronic module to a textile. The overall mechanical assembly of the invention includes: (a) light pipe, (b) top enclosure, (b) magnet, (c) main electronics which contains (d) the main PCB, (e) battery and (f) other electronic components, (g) bottom enclosure, which holds (h) the connector PCB, (i) module dock, (j) top textile PCB which are located above the (j) textile band and under the (k) textile pocket and the (l) bottom textile PCB and (m) fabric and laminate padding, which are located below the textile band. The invention is physically embodied by an electronic module, comprising at least one printed circuit board (PCB), comprising at least one conductive circuit and at least one electronic component; a metallic rivet, grommet or eyelet to mechanically and electrically connect the; and a textile substrate with at least one electrically conductive circuit.

Abstract: A multi-functional health monitoring mat which enables the measurement of—but not limited to the following parameters: Weight, Plantar pressure, Bio-impedance for body composition, and Cardiovascular based measurements, such as: Electrocardiogram (ECG), Ballistocardiogram (BCG) from which additional health indicating analytics can be further extracted. The mat will be comprised of 3 separate layers: (1) A Bottom Layer, used for weight measurement, comprising force measurement sensors (2) A Middle Layer, used for pressure measurement, comprising pressure sensors in a matrix, and (3) A Top Layer, used for bio-impedance measurement, comprising conductive sensors, distributed throughout the top layer, enabling random orientation of the feet. In addition, there will be an electronic sub-system to enable communication of data and information from the bath mat to a mobile application. Measurements taken from the mat are transmitted to a software application on a mobile phone and data is used to provide feedback to the user.

Abstract: A textile interconnection system for a textile substrate. The textile substrate may include at least one conductive fibre configured to transmit at least one of a power or data signal. The textile interconnection system includes a textile receptacle projecting from the textile substrate to define a cavity for receiving a controller device. The textile interconnection system includes a textile docking device received within the textile receptacle and coupled to the at least one conductive fibre of the textile substrate to electrically interconnect the received controller device and the textile substrate. The textile interconnection system includes a housing coupled to the textile docking device and received within the textile receptacle to mechanically interconnect the received controller device and the textile substrate.

Abstract: A resilient fabric band providing a sensor platform for a wearer in order to sense a plurality of biometric data, the band comprising: a pair of ECG sensors coupled to an interior surface of a body of the band, each of the pair of ECG sensors located on either side of a front to back centerline of the body; a pair of bio impedance sensors coupled to the interior surface of the body of the band, each of the pair of bio impedance sensors located on either side of the front to back centerline; a strain gauge sensor coupled to the body of the band; a computer device mounted on the body of the band via a housing, the computer device including a power source, a computer processor, a memory for storing instructions for execution by the computer processor, and a network interface for transmitting data sensed by the sensors; and a plurality of communication pathways connecting the computer device to each of the sensors, the communication pathway for sending power from the power supply to the sensors as controlled by the computer processor and for receiving sensed data from the sensors by the computer processor.
