Abstract:
A dual watch subscriber unit (SU) in a wireless communication system transmits short data during an active call in response to a request to transmit short data. The SU transmits, via a transceiver at the SU, pending short data on an inbound data channel of an inbound traffic frequency. One of prior to or after transmitting the short data, the SU substantially simultaneously receives: via a first receiver of the transceiver, missed communication media of the active call missed during transmitting of the pending short data on a first outbound channel of a first outbound traffic frequency; and via a second receiver of the transceiver, second communication media of the active call, transmitted prior to or after the missed communication media of the active call, on a second outbound channel of a second outbound traffic frequency. The SU then plays back media from the missed and second communication media.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for recommending changes in relation to video security camera deployment within a security system is disclosed. The computer-implemented method includes obtaining, at an at least one electronic computing device, video analytics data in respect of a plurality of video frames captured by an at least one video security camera operating under a plurality of operational parameters. When processing of the video analytics data indicates at least one issue in relation to performance of the video security camera, a visual message or an audio message is delivered by a screen or a speaker respectively. The visual or audio message indicates a recommendation in relation to some change, replacement or upgrading of the video security camera.
Abstract:
Techniques for saving bandwidth in performing facial recognition are provided. An image including a face may be received, over a wireless link, at a first resolution. A facial recognition system may identify a subset of people who may be associated with the face, wherein the facial recognition system cannot definitively associate the face with an individual person in the subset of people, based on the image including the face at the first resolution. A feature of the subset of people that may be used to identify a person within the subset of people may be determined. A request for the portion of the image containing the feature at a second resolution may be sent over the wireless link. The second resolution may be higher than the first.
Abstract:
An electronic digital assistant of an electronic computing device receives a query from a requestor. The assistant determines whether the results of the query include a data portion restricted for the requestor. The assistant determines users having permission to process the data portion restricted for the requestor. The assistant calculates, a priority factor associated with each of users having permission to process the data portion restricted for the requestor. The priority factor is based on at least one criterion defined by a contextual relation between the requestor and respective user. Based on the priority factor a contact person for the data portion restricted for the requestor is selected.
Abstract:
A process for validating a public safety agency command issued to a vehicle. In operation, a public safety agency controller receives a public safety agency command validation inquiry from a vehicle communication device. The inquiry indicates that the vehicle communication device has detected a public safety agency command issued to the vehicle and includes a first vehicle identifier and a first vehicle location. The controller receives a public safety agency command information including a second vehicle identifier and a second vehicle location from a public safety agency communication device. The validity of the public safety agency command is determined based on comparing the first vehicle identifier with the second vehicle identifier and comparing the first vehicle location with the second vehicle location. The controller then transmits a notification to the vehicle communication device identifying the validity of the public safety agency command.
Abstract:
A process for improving situational awareness at an incident scene includes first receiving audio or video of a user and detecting, in one or both of the audio and video, an instruction directed to another user. A compliance metric associated with the instruction is then accessed and one or more available second cameras having a field of view that incorporates a current location of the another user are identified. One or more video streams from the second cameras are received that include the another user. An action of the another user is identified from the video streams and is correlated with the compliance metric to determine a level of compliance of the another user with the instruction. In response to determining, as a function of the correlating, that the level of compliance falls below a threshold level of compliance, a computing device taking a responsive noncompliance action.
Abstract:
A process for adjusting base station transmit power to reduce power consumption in a wireless radio system, the method includes causing, by a radio controller, a message to be transmitted on a control channel in the wireless radio system proposing a transmit power reduction with respect to a traffic channel in the wireless radio system. Subsequently monitoring, by the radio controller, one or both of the control channel and the traffic channel for an indication from a mobile station affected by the proposed power reduction that the proposed power reduction is unacceptable. And modifying, by the radio controller, as a function of the presence or absence of the indication, the transmit power of the traffic channel.
Abstract:
A system and method for sending an image to a user device based on the context of a user of the device are provided. An image to be sent to a user device may be obtained. The context of the user may be determined. The image may be analyzed to detect and prioritize objects in the image based on the context of the user. The image may be encoded such that objects are rendered on the user device in an order based on the prioritization. The encoded image may be sent to the user device.
Abstract:
A process for fixed camera and unmanned mobile device collaboration is disclosed in order to improve identification of an object of interest. A first point of view (POV) of a captured object is obtained and it is determined, with a first level of certainty, that the captured first POV of the object matches a stored object of interest. Then one or more camera-equipped unmanned mobile vehicles are identified in a determined direction of travel of the first captured object, and a dispatch instruction and intercept information is then transmitted to the one or more camera-equipped unmanned mobile vehicles. Subsequently, a captured second POV of the first captured object is received via the one or more camera-equipped unmanned mobile vehicles. The captured second POV of the captured object is used to determine, with a second level of certainty, that the captured object matches the stored object of interest.
Abstract:
A process for improving situational awareness at an incident scene includes first receiving audio or video of a user and detecting, in one or both of the audio and video, an instruction directed to a crowd. A compliance metric associated with the instruction is then accessed and one or more available second cameras having a field of view that incorporates a current location of the crowd are identified. One or more video streams from the second cameras are received that include the crowd. From the one or more video streams, determinations are made that the crowd as a whole meets a minimum level of compliance with the instruction and that a level of compliance of a particular other user in the crowd has fallen below a threshold level of compliance. In response, a computing device performs a noncompliance action.
