Abstract:
A method for constructing a base for holding a moving sawhead along a linear path using a ladder with a carriage base attached thereto is disclosed. A vertical slide is attached to the carriage base and also attached to the powered sawhead so that the blade is capable of cutting in a generally horizontal plane.
Abstract:
A universal front and rear equipment mount for an ATV includes a telescoping central frame member with telescoping front and rear mounting arms extending therefrom for connection to independent axle structures of the ATV, front and rear angled hitch brackets, each with upturned tabs having aligned holes to receive a hitch pin, and front and rear angled pulley brackets having pulleys mounted thereon for routing a winch cable of a winch mounted either on the front or rear of the vehicle or on the front or rear pulley brackets. An implement can be hitched either to the front or rear hitch bracket, and the implement can be raised or lowered by use of the winch, which has its cable routed over selected pulleys and connected to a hitch tongue or other part of the implement.
Abstract:
A kit for constructing a sawhead comprises a pair of plates adapted to be stacked upon and secured to one another by bolts to form a plate stack. The kit further comprises a pair of elongate guide receivers. Each guide receiver has a longitudinal axis and an interior wall which defines a bore extending through the each guide receiver and through which bore the longitudinal axis extends. The interior wall has a cross-section which is substantially constant along the length of each guide receiver. The guide receivers are adapted to be mounted to the plate stack by bolts at respective operative positions whereat the longitudinal axes are oriented parallel to one another and whereat the guide receivers are spaced from one another in a direction transverse to the axes.
Abstract:
A front equipment mount for attaching a piece of equipment to a front end of a wheeled vehicle having an independent front suspension includes a longitudinal frame and a transverse frame member connected to the longitudinal frame. The longitudinal frame has a forward and end which is positionable proximate the front end of the vehicle and a rearward end which is attachable to the vehicle rearward of the front suspension. The transverse frame member has opposed left and right ends connectable to respective left and right suspension members of the vehicle. The piece of equipment is attachable to the forward end of the longitudinal frame such that the weight of the piece of equipment is supported by the left and right suspension members as unsprung weight.

A kit for constructing a sawhead is disclosed. The kit comprises two or more plates adapted to be stacked upon and secured to one another by bolts to form a plate stack. The kit further comprises two or more elongate guide receivers. Each guide receiver has a longitudinal axis and an interior wall which defines a bore extending through said each guide receiver and through which bore said longitudinal axis extends. The interior wall has a cross-section which is substantially constant along the length of said each guide receiver. The guide receivers are adapted to be mounted to the plate stack by bolts at respective operative positions whereat the longitudinal axes are oriented parallel to one another and whereat the guide receivers are spaced from one another in a direction transverse to said axes. An improved band sawmill employing a sawhead constructed from the kit is also disclosed.

Abstract:
An support structure is provided comprising: (a) a mast extending upwards; (b) a center bar extending horizontally from the mast, the center bar configured to extend along the bottom of the light vehicle; (c) a T bar extending from the center bar, along the bottom of the light vehicle to a T bar end at a lateral side of the light vehicle; and (d) a first truss member extending upwards on an incline from the first T bar end to a truss position on the mast. A counter load bearing mount may be attached to the center bar at the second end of the vehicle. Also taught is a load bearing apparatus comprising a support structure of the invention and at least one load bearing member selected from the group consisting of a dump box, 3-point hitch, hitch, dump bucket, log skidder, pallet forks, backhoe, agricultural plow, folding forks, tiller, scraper, disk harrow, disk harrow, hydraulic hammer, auger, grinder, and grapples.

Abstract:
A log adjustment system for a portable saw mill having a saw head and a bed includes a pair of substantially parallel elongate supports, at least two transverse members, and an adjustable toe board. The first transverse member extends between the elongate supports. The second transverse member extends parallel to the first transverse member. The adjustable toe board extends in a gap defined between the first transverse member and the second transverse member. The adjustable tool is configured to be supported at a plurality of heights adjacent to the first and second transverse members.
