    摘要: A luminaire comprising a base, an optic attached to the base, a heat sink integrally molded within the base, and a heat-generating element comprising an LED-based light source in thermal communication with the heat sink. The light source may be positioned such that light emitted by the LED is emitted into an optical chamber defined by the first housing. A second housing may comprise channels formed by opposing pairs of fin guards. The heat sink may comprise a plurality of fin assemblies connected along a perimeter of a heat-generating element contacting portion of the heat sink. A proximal edge of each fin assembly may be positioned adjacent to an outer surface of the first housing. A distal edge of each fin assembly may be positioned so as to be coextensive with a respective channel and substantially exposed to the environment external to the luminaire.

    摘要: A luminaire comprising a base, a heat sink modularly connected to the base, and a heat-generating element in thermal communication with the modular heat sink. The heat sink may include a heat-generating element contacting portion, and a plurality of heat sink segments connected to and extending outwardly therefrom. Each of the heat sink assemblies segments may comprise at least one fin assembly. Each heat sink segment may pass through a respective plurality of passageways in the top portion of the base so that the heat sink segments may matingly engage the medial portion of the base. A method for forming a heat sink comprises fabricating a heat-generating element contacting portion, constructing a plurality of heat sink segments, and assembling the plurality of heat sink segments to connect to and extend outwardly from the bottom surface of the heat-generating element contacting portion.

    摘要: A luminaire may include an electrical base, an optic defining an optical chamber, an intermediate member that may be positioned between the electrical base and the optic, and a light source. The intermediate member may include a main body and a plurality of structural supports that may be connected to the main body which may be configured to carry an upper member. A plurality of voids may be positioned between the respective plurality of structural supports to position the optical chamber in optical communication with the environment surrounding the luminaire therethrough. The upper member may be configured to carry the optic and the light source may be electrically coupled to the electrical base and may be positioned within the optical chamber. The optic may be configured to redirect at least a portion of light incident thereupon in the direction of the plurality of voids.

    摘要: A lighting device may include an electrical base, a stabilizer adapted to be matingly connected to the electrical base, a body member, and an optic connected to the body member and defining an optical chamber. A light source may be positioned within the optical chamber and in electrical communication with the electrical base. The stabilizer may be transitionable from an engaged position with the electrical base and a disengaged position with the electrical base. The disengaged position allows for the stabilizer to be translated longitudinally with respect to the base member. The engaged position slidably fixes the stabilizer with respect to the heat sink by reducing space between the electrical base, the enclosure and the heat sink.
