Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing a video signal, which can increase the accuracy of the motion vector prediction through motion vector scaling which takes a difference in the temporal distance between reference pictures into consideration. To this end, the present invention provides a video signal processing method and a video signal processing apparatus using the same, and the method comprises the steps of: scaling at least one neighboring partition motion vector for a motion vector prediction of the current partition; scaling the neighboring partition motion vector, which has been selected, when the reference picture of the neighboring partition motion vector is different from the reference picture of the current partition; acquiring a motion vector prediction value of the current partition using the scaled motion vector; and acquiring a motion vector of the current partition using the motion vector prediction value.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technique for encoding and decoding video data, and more particularly, to a method for performing inter-prediction in an effective manner. The present disclosure combines an inter-prediction method using an AMVP mode and an inter-prediction method using a merge mode so as to propose a method for using the same candidate. The method for encoding video data proposed by the present disclosure comprises the following steps: receiving mode information on an inter-prediction method of a current block; determining, on the basis of the received mode information, whether the interprediction method to be applied to the current block is an AMVP mode or a merge mode; and selecting a candidate to derive motion information of the current block, wherein the candidate is selected in a left region, top region and corner region of the current block and in the same position block as the current block, and the AMVP mode and the merge mode are applied on the basis of the selected candidate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for signaling image information and to a decoding method using same. The method for signaling image information according to the present invention comprises: a step of performing inter-prediction for a current picture; and a step of signaling information including the result of said inter-prediction and reference picture information indicating reference pictures usable in said inter prediction, wherein said reference picture information contains pieces of picture order count (POC) information of said usable reference pictures. The POC information of said usable reference pictures in said reference picture information is configured such that POCs for the pictures existing before said current picture in terms of a POC sequence are located at the front, and POCs for the pictures existing after said current picture in terms of a POC sequence are located following the POCs located at the front.

Abstract: New intra planar modes are introduced for predicting digital video data. As part of the new intra planar modes, various methods are offered for predicting a first sample within a prediction unit, where the first sample is needed for referencing to when processing the new intra planar modes. And once the first sample is successfully predicted, the new intra planar modes are able to predict a sample of video data within the prediction unit by processing a bi-linear interpolation of four previously reconstructed reference samples.
