Another apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first chassis; a second chassis coupled to the first chassis; a first display unit; and a touch screen including a second display unit, and a detection unit that detects a touch operation made on the second display unit. A control method for an apparatus that includes a first display unit and a touch screen including a second display unit and a detection unit is disclosed. The control method includes displaying index information on the second display unit; and displaying, a screen configuration corresponding to an operation area in which a touch operation is performed.

An apparatus for video signal switching for use with an external graphics processing unit device includes an input unit of an information processing device configured to input a first video signal from an external device comprising a graphics processing unit (“GPU”) and an input/output interface, a processing unit of the information processing device configured to output a second video signal, and a switching unit configured to determine a route for a video display signal that is output to a display unit, the route selected from an external route along which the first video signal is output to the display unit without going through the processing unit and an internal route along which the second video signal is output to the display unit. A personal computer providing power over Wi-Fi is provided, the personal computer comprising: a plurality of Wi-Fi antennas; and a processor configured to: determine a data activity level for the plurality of Wi-Fi antennas; in response to the determining of the data activity level, assign each of the plurality of Wi-Fi antennas to one of data transmission and power transmission, wherein the assigning is based on the data activity level; and send power packets using each of the plurality of Wi-Fi antennas that is assigned to power transmission.

An energization range of a laptop PC is controlled for safety component replacement. An EC can communicate with a battery unit to control a FET of the battery unit. In a power-off state, a PWC receives electricity from the battery unit or an AC/DC adapter. In the power-off state, a system of the EC stops. When a housing cover of the laptop PC is opened, a cover switch turns ON. When a logic circuit detects the operation of the cover switch, the PWC controls a DC/DC converter group to activate the system. The EC receiving electricity turns the FET OFF. Then the PWC turns the FET OFF.

A technique for establishing a network interface and an external interface in a connector is disclosed. A personal computer (PC) includes a device controller for controlling data transmission with a peripheral device and a network device, and a receptacle including multiple pins for connecting data channels of the device controller to the peripheral device through the external interface and the network device through the network interface. The PC further includes a crossbar switch for switching the data channels to establish the external interface and the network interface in the receptacle. The external interface complies with the USB standards, and the network interface complies with the Ethernet standards.

The present invention performs inputting of characters for which numerical value calculations and so forth are requested in advance. When an event character string has been input by an input unit and it has been decided that a specific character is included in the character string, a laptop PC extracts the character string that includes the specific character as a conversion object character string and derives a conversion candidate for the conversion object character string according to the specific character. Then, the laptop PC makes the conversion candidate display on a touch-panel display and converts the conversion object character string into the conversion candidate that has been selected by a user.

Abstract:
A wireless charging system provides charging to a multi-display device. A docking station in the system includes at least two transmission sources positioned so that a charger on the device is in range of at least one of the transmission sources when docked. In some embodiments, the docking station receives the device in a non-planar configuration and the charger receives charge on whichever side of the docking station it is docked on. In some embodiments, the system determines which side of the docking station is activated to provide charging. The multi-display device can be activated in a mode of operation associated with the side of the docking station determined to be providing charge.

A holder provides a movable wall for storing a writing instrument. The holder may store the writing instrument in a protected compartment until a user may rotate the wall to expose the writing instrument to access. In some embodiments, the movable wall may be connected to a cover of an electronic device. Access to the writing instrument may be provided by opening or closing the cover which may move concurrently with the wall.
