    摘要： Apparatus for handling a strand of yarn continuously advancing at high speed through a winding machine. The strand is cut and an injector plunger and jet divert the strand into an aspirator which passes the strand to a disposal container. An aspirator for handling strandular materials such as yarn constructed to provide a vortex encircled by a high speed laminar fluid stream which substantially increases the capacity of the aspirator for controlling the strandular material which has been directed into the aspirator.

    摘要： A method and apparatus is disclosed for imparting false twist to textile yarn wherein a friction twister is employed to impart a plurality of turns of twist to a strand of yarn for each revolution of the friction twister. The invention is particularly suited to situations wherein the yarn strand is moving rapidly. The disclosed frictional twister comprises two axially aligned hollow spindles containing frictional engagement means therein. The two spindles are driven by moving belts that contact the exterior circumferential surfaces of the spindles. Movable yarn guide means are provided to engage the yarn strand and assure adequate frictional engagement between the yarn strand and the frictional engagement means after the spindles are threaded up. Another embodiment of the friction twister has the capacity to handle a plurality of yarn strands simultaneously.

    摘要： A method is disclosed for imparting twist to textile filaments and a friction twister therefor wherein a plurality of turns of twist are imparted to the filament for each revolution of the friction twister. The disclosed friction twister comprises two hollow spindles containing frictional engagement means therein. The two spindles are driven by pivoting the twister about a pivot point so that the hollow spindles come into engagement with a drive belt that passes between the spindles. Reversing guide means is provided to allow a filament to enter the front portion of one spindle and exit from the front portion of the other spindle. Another embodiment of the reversing guide means has a capacity to handle two filaments simultaneously.
