摘要: A metal article is improved on its surface for the purpose of plating thereon by treatment with an additive of an anionic, cationic or amphoteric and water-soluble or water-self-dispersible organic polymer J, K or L. J is a polymer having an aromatic ring and OH group and a polar group. K is a polymer of hydroxystyrene having a polar group. L is a copolymer of hydroxystyrene having a polar group and a vinyl compound. The article this way plated is improved in corrosion resistance.

摘要: A biodegradable polymeric composition includes 99.5 wt. % to 40 wt. % soy protein and 0.5 wt. % to 60 wt. % of a first strengthening agent that consists essentially of a polysaccharide selected from the group consisting of agar, gellan, and mixtures thereof. The composition is substantially completely soluble in water at a pH of about 7.0 or higher. A biodegradable composite includes a fiber mat and the described biodegradable polymeric composition. A biodegradable molded thermoset solid article is obtained by subjecting the described biodegradable polymeric composition to conditions of temperature and pressure effective to form the thermoset solid article.

摘要: A tire uniformity measuring apparatus having: a drum for rotating a tire; an oscillating member disposed parallel to a drum rotating shaft and pivotally supported on a machine base through a fulcrum; a movable member disposed in parallel to the drum rotating shaft in the plane including the drum rotating shaft and a tire rotating shaft, the movable member being laterally movable in response to a load acting on the tire in a lateral direction perpendicular to the radial direction of the tire; a load applying member for applying in advance a predetermined load to the tire; and a displacement detecting member for detecting as a displacement of the movable member the displacement of the tire rotating shaft which is dependent on variation in the lateral load; thereby detecting a variation in the lateral load of the tire. The apparatus may comprise a further movable member which is a shaft member constituting the fulcrum, the movable member being slidably movable along the longitudinal axis only in response to a variation in the tangential load, and a further displacement detecting member for detecting a displacement of the movable member, thereby detecting a variation in the tangential load acting on the tire.

摘要: An active suspension apparatus detects a relative displacement (x) between an axle and a vehicle body, discriminates a road surface state in accordance with the relative displacement and a change rate (x) in unit time which is derived from the relative displacement (x), and optimally controls characteristics of damping forces of hydropneumatic suspensions in accordance with a discrimination result (i.e., a road surface state). This discrimination is performed in accordance with a sum (Ax+Bx) of a signal obtained by multiplying the relative displacement (x) with a predetermined coefficient and a signal obtained by multiplying the change rate (x) with another predetermined coefficient. These coefficients are obtained in accordance with riding comfort against vibrations. The characteristics of the damping force of the hydropneumatic suspension are controlled by controlling the opening of throttle valves disposed between hydropneumatic chambers and actuators.

摘要: Dual (redundant) operation support servers are used to improve the reliability of a video conferencing system and ensure the stability of communication. Switching automatically one operation support server to another enables a video conference to be smoothly continued without interruption. Multiple operation support servers are provided, each including a synchronization function which synchronizes site connection information and live camera information between the operation support servers and prevents an operation support server in a standby state from writing live camera information in a folder for each site. Each site PC 14 includes an automatic server change function which, when an operation support server 11 in service fails, switches connection from the operation support server 11 to an operation support server 12 in a standby state. When the operation support server in service fails, the operation support server in a standby state writes live camera information into a folder for each site and each site PC changes connection from the operation support server that was in service to the operation support server in a standby state.
