Abstract: The described technology relates to an electrolyte solution comprising a sulfur dioxide-based ionic liquid electrolyte, and a sodium-sulfur dioxide (Na—SO2) secondary battery having same, one purpose of the described technology being to enhance the storage characteristics of sulfur dioxide gas in an electrolyte solution. The sodium-sulfur dioxide secondary battery includes a negative electrode which is formed from an inorganic material and which contains sodium. The battery also includes a positive electrode which is formed from a carbon material and a sulfur dioxide-based inorganic electrolyte solution. Here, the electrolyte solution contains a sulfur dioxide-based ionic liquid electrolyte prepared by injecting SO2 gas in an ionic liquid.

Abstract: A zinc-bromine flow battery is proposed. The battery may include a conductive interlayer that can reduce the amount of inactive zinc in the form of dendrites on a negative electrode, thereby improving the zinc desorption process and improving the capacity and lifespan characteristics of the battery. The battery may include a membrane, a first electrode stacked on one side of the membrane, and a second electrode stacked on other side of the membrane. The battery may also include a conductive interlayer interposed between a negative electrode from among the first and second electrodes and the membrane and having a log value of hydrogen generation exchange current density of −4 or less in an acid-based electrolyte.
