Abstract: The present invention relates to digital pathology. In order to provide an improved handling of probes in digital pathology, a slide-holder (10) for digital pathology is provided that comprises a tray basis (12), a plurality of mounting means (14) and a plurality of slide-holder registration points (16). The tray basis is configured to carry a plurality of slides (20) to be imaged by a digital pathology system, for which the tray basis provides a plurality of slide-receiving positions. The plurality of mounting means are arranged on the tray basis to mount the plurality of slides on the tray basis in a plurality of slide-receiving positions to image each slide in a separate imaging position. The slide-holder registration points comprise a plurality of interacting portions (22) that provide a mechanical registration of the tray basis with a digital pathology system for each of the imaging positions.

The system comprises a parameter determining unit (2) for determining a parameter, based on a portion of the image excluding the detected region. The system comprises an image processing module (3) for processing the image, using the derived parameter. The system comprises a display unit (5) for displaying the processed image with an indication of the detected region. The parameter determined by the parameter determining unit (2) can comprise a normalization parameter, and the image processing module (3) can be arranged for performing a normalization of the image according to the normalization parameter.

Abstract: An apparatus (MDS) and related method for image processing. The apparatus includes a multi-modal matcher (M). The matcher (M) operates to match a first reference (RF1) image against a stream (LF) of image frames (F1, F2). Once a match is found, the current reference image (RF1) is exchanged for a matching frame from the stream. The matcher (M) then attempts matching against subsequent frames in the stream by now using said matched frame as a new reference image. Once a further frame (Fm) is found that matches said new reference image, said further frame (Fm) is output as a best match.

Abstract: A method (and system) is provided obtaining an adapted calibration transformation for whole slide imaging, wherein the adapted calibration transformation is for outputting the color of an empty area of the slide in a whole slide image, WSI, as a desired color. The method comprises first receiving a color target WSI in a device-dependent color space, wherein the color target WSI is a WSI of a color target from a scanner represented in the device-dependent color space. The color target contains at least a white patch and three (near) primary color patches. A calibration transformation is obtained for transforming the device-dependent color space to a device-independent color space. A chromatic adaptation transformation is derived using the color of the white patch in the device-dependent color space, the color of the empty (glass) area in the device-independent color space and the desired empty (glass) color in the target color space. An adapted calibration transformation is obtained by applying the chromatic adaptation transformation to the calibration transformation.
