摘要: A drop-in ambidextrous magazine catch assembly with release lever protection guide is described. The assembly may be implementable on a lower receiver of a firearm, and may include a magazine catch, a protection guide and a release lever. The magazine catch may be configured to, in a first position when installed in the lower receiver, latch onto a magazine inserted into the lower receiver to prevent the magazine from moving out of the lower receiver and, in a second position when installed in the lower receiver, unlatch the magazine to allow the magazine to move out of the lower receiver. The release lever may be pivotably mounted on the protection guide and connected to the magazine catch, the release lever configured to be in a pressed position or a non-depressed position such that, when in the pressed position, the magazine catch is moved to the second position.

摘要: An adjustable gas system for a firearm includes a gas block, a gas regulator and a plunger. The gas block is configured to be fixed to a barrel of the firearm, and includes a hole configured to receive a gas tube of the firearm. The gas regulator is configured to rotate around the barrel, and includes a plurality of gas port holes of different sizes. The plunger is configured to hold the gas regulator at one of a plurality of angles with respect to the gas block such that a select one of the plurality of gas port holes is aligned with the hole on the gas block to allow a respective amount of gas to flow from the barrel to the gas tube through the select one of the plurality of gas port holes.

摘要: A telescopic sight for a firearm includes a scope tube, first and second optical lenses, an eyepiece set and a linear power adjustment mechanism. The optical lenses are contained in the scope tube and configured to move along a longitudinal axis of the scope tube. The eyepiece set is coupled to one end of the scope tube. The linear power adjustment mechanism adjusts zooming power of the telescopic sight, and includes a zoom cam tube and a lever that are contained in the zoom cam tube. The lever is coupled to rotate the zoom cam tube. When actuated, the lever moves linearly along a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the scope tube such that a distance between the first and the second optical lenses along the longitudinal axis of the scope tube to change to adjust a zooming power of the telescopic sight.

摘要: An annular piston system for a firearm comprises a barrel, a gas block assembly, a piston, and a spring. The barrel has multiple sections lengthwise, one of the sections having at least one gas port hole to vent gas from the barrel. The gas block assembly is disposed annularly around the barrel and is adjustable to control an amount of gas flowing out of the barrel through the at least one gas port hole. The piston is disposed annularly around the barrel and can move longitudinally along the barrel in response to being pushed by the gas flowing out of the barrel. The spring is disposed annularly around the third section of the barrel and coupled to the piston. The spring limits a distance that the piston can move longitudinally along the barrel when the piston is pushed to move by the gas flowing out of the barrel.

摘要: A method of speech recognition that uses hierarchical data structures that include a top level grammar and various related subgrammars, such as word, phone, and state subgrammars. A speech signal is acquired, and a probabilistic search is performed using the speech signal as an input, and using the (unexpanded) grammars and subgrammars as possible inputs. Memory is allocated to a subgrammar when a transition to that subgrammar is made during the probabilistic search. The subgrammar may then be expanded and evaluated, and the probability of a match between the speech signal and an element of the subgrammar for which memory has been allocated may be computed. Because unexpanded grammars and subgrammars take up very little memory, this method enables systems to recognize and process a larger vocabulary that would otherwise be possible. This method also permits grammars and subgrammars to be added, deleted, or selected by a remote computer while the speech recognition system is operating, allowing speech recognition systems to have a nearly unlimited vocabulary.

摘要: A dual evaporator air conditioning system and method for use therewith to cool air in front and rear portions of a cabin. The dual evaporator air conditioning system includes primary and auxiliary HVAC units to cool the air in the front and rear portions of the cabin, respectively. The dual evaporator air conditioning system also includes a control system having cooling and non-cooling modes for each of the HVAC units. The control system automatically diverts cooled air produced by the auxiliary HVAC unit into an air dumping chamber in response to the auxiliary HVAC unit being in the non-cooling mode while the primary HVAC unit is in the cooling mode. The air dumping chamber is partitioned from the cabin to prevent the cooled air generated by the auxiliary HVAC unit from entering the cabin. Maintaining airflow through an auxiliary evaporator prevents refrigerant and lubricant buildup in the auxiliary evaporator.

摘要: A thermostatic expansion valve controls a flow of refrigerant. The valve includes a body defining a fluid chamber. A refrigerant inlet is defined within the body. The inlet communicates with the chamber such that the refrigerant can flow through the inlet and into the chamber. First and second outlets are defined within the body. The first outlet communicates with the chamber such that the refrigerant can flow from the chamber to an evaporator during normal and low refrigerant charge. The second outlet communicates with the chamber such that the refrigerant can flow from the chamber to a compressor during low charge. A moveable needle controls the flow of the refrigerant into and out of the body. A notch is defined within the needle such that, during low charge, the refrigerant that flows into the chamber can flow to the second outlet and to the compressor without flowing through the evaporator.
