Abstract:
A protective enclosure adapted to hold a touch screen device and allow operation of both the touch screen and actuators on a side of the device, the enclosure formed of a tray having a rim surrounding an interior device seating surface; a lid having a rim corresponding to the rim of the tray and surrounding a window aperture; a protective membrane having a transparent membrane forming an interior window portion positioned in the viewing aperture of the lid, and a resiliently pliable skirt about the interior window portion, the skirt projecting the interior window portion outwardly of the rim around the aperture of the lid; a continuous pliable seal adapted to be compressible between the corresponding rims of the lid and the tray; and a mechanism for clamping the rim of the lid and the rim of the tray with the pliable seal forming a continuous seal therebetween.
Abstract:
A flexible portable device holding and cradling apparatus that overcomes limitations of the prior art by providing a flexible portable device mounting apparatus provided by a frame that is structured for being coupled to an external mounting device, the frame having a mounting surface and a plurality of first and second passages provided adjacent to each of opposing side edges thereof; a plurality of substantially resiliently flexible clamps each having a leg portion, a finger portion extended from the leg portion, and a substantially resiliently flexible urging portion coupled between the leg portion and the finger portion; and coupling means operating between different ones of the first and second passages of the frame and the leg portion of each of different ones of the clamps for coupling the leg portion relative to the mounting surface.
Abstract:
A support for a portable electronic device, the support having a case that is configured to receive and hold the portable electronic device. A strap is coupled to the case and configured for fitting around an appendage of a user and allowing the user to support the case relative to the appendage. A support stand is coupled to the case independently of the strap and includes a portion that is swivelable away from the case and is configured, when swiveled away from the case, for supporting the case on an external surface in an angled arrangement relative to the external surface. Optionally, the base is positioned on a back plane of the case, and a rotational mechanism is coupled between the base and the case such that the case is rotatable relative to the base.
Abstract:
A support apparatus having a variable security level, including a tray structured for receiving a portable electronic device, the tray having a mounting interface structure on an outside backing surface thereof. An unsecurable retainer mechanism is structured for releasably retaining the portable electronic device in the tray. A variable level security mechanism is structured for securably retaining the portable electronic device in the tray, the variably securable latching element including: a latching element that is movable between a latched configuration relative to the tray for securably latching the portable electronic device in the tray, and an unlatched configuration, a plunger-type security element that is movable between a secured configuration for alternatively securing the latching element in the latched and unlatched configurations thereof, and an unsecured configuration, and a lock element that is coupled to the security element for alternatively locking the security element in the secured and unsecured configurations thereof.
Abstract:
A universal rod-to-tube adapter for mounting a rod in a tube holder, wherein the rod-to-tube adapter snugs and rotationally aligns the rod and eliminates rattle and vibration. The rod-to-tube adapter includes both a column centering collar formed as a truncated cone with a central aperture formed therethrough between its base and apex thereof and has resiliently compressible side walls, and a base centering collar formed as a cup with a cross-wise slot is formed in a base thereof, and a plurality of resiliently collapsible semi-rigid centering members extending therefrom adjacent to the base.
Abstract:
A molded external expanding apparatus or “docking station” operable with a portable computer device of a type having a display unit having a display screen on an inner surface thereof and a hard shell backing surface opposite thereof and pivotally mounted on a substantially rigid casing having a pair of locating holes adjacent to opposite corners of a substantially planar bottom surface thereof, and an input/output (I/O) connector positioned on a back plane thereof with a pair of positioning apertures provided on opposite sides thereof.
Abstract:
A docking station formed of a tray having a clamping portion coupled to a receiver portion for motion along a travel axis therebetween. A lever is coupled for moving the clamping portion between an expanded position spaced away from the receiver portion, and a retracted position adjacent to the receiver portion. The lever includes a preload portion that is adapted for preloading the clamping portion in the retracted position, and a latching portion that is coupled for retaining the clamping portion in the retracted position. The preload portion of the lever is a resiliently bendable member, such as a spring. Optionally, the lever is a second class lever.
Abstract:
A docking station having a docking tray that is adapted for seating a portable electronic device therein with a docking port of the portable electronic device seated against an interface portion thereof, and the interface portion of the docking tray being formed with an interface outlet aperture positioned for alignment with the docking port of the portable electronic device. A connector retainer is coupleable for releasably urging individual ones of a plurality of different interfaces toward the interface portion of the docking tray and positioning a connection portion thereof adjacent to the interface outlet aperture and directed inwardly of the docking tray. An urging mechanism is adapted for urging the seated portable electronic device toward the interface portion of the docking tray and the interface outlet aperture thereof.
