The signal detection method includes selecting a plurality of sub-channel matrices having smaller dimensions than the nT×nR channel matrix, estimating transmission symbols received from corresponding transmission antennas using a maximum likelihood decoding method with respect to a received signal corresponding to each of the sub-channel matrices, estimating transmission symbols received from the remaining transmission antenna(s) using the estimated transmission symbols, temporarily storing a candidate symbol set composed of the estimated transmission symbols, and comparing candidate symbol sets corresponding to all the sub-channel matrices and determining the smallest candidate symbol set as a transmission symbol set.

The spatial multiplexing detection method includes estimating channels of a received signal, and sorting the estimated channels in descending order according to a scheme; generating a subsystem of a minimum unit by nulling an arbitrary channel among the sorted channels; performing a modified maximum likelihood (MML) in the subsystem of the minimum unit to calculate a number of transmission signal vectors; and calculating Euclidean distances of the number of the transmission signal vectors, and selecting a transmission signal vector having a minimum Euclidean distance. Accordingly, the receiver exhibits a performance level similar to a Maximum Likelihood (ML) and can obtain the complexity similar to successive interference cancellation (SIC).

    摘要: Provided is a handover method of a wireless communication system using a hierarchical cellular scheme. In the method, signal quality of a serving node is measured, so that whether to start scanning for a handover is determined. When the scanning for the handover starts, signal qualities of a serving cell including the serving node and one or more neighbor cells are measured through a first preamble including a first identifier for distinguishing a cell. An intra-cell handover or an inter-cell handover is selected using the signal qualities of the serving cell and the neighbor cells. Therefore, a terminal can easily distinguish between the inter-cell handover and the intra-cell handover, and an overhead during a handover can be reduced because an intra-cell handover procedure is simplified.

The transmission scheme selection device generates information regarding plural sets of information to be used, a constellation mapping scheme and transmission power and transmits the generated information to the associated units of the transmitter and receiver, thereby controlling the number of sub code streams, the constellation mapping scheme and the transmission power. The system and method provide superior performance and require minimal feedback information.
