Abstract:
A device and arrangement for installation of a fixture in a jaw bone comprises a fixture holder designed to cooperate with a guide member forming part of a template, via which guide member the fixture can be applied in its position in the jaw bone with the aid of the fixture holder. The arrangement is also provided with one or more elements which, with the aid of the guide member, ensure defined positions of the fixture in the vertical and transverse directions. The element or elements is or are arranged on the fixture holder.
Abstract:
An arrangement for determining position and fixation of an element in a vertical direction and a transverse direction in relation to a part in or on a bone or a model of a bone. A sleeve includes an inner surface. An expansion spacer extends through the sleeve and includes an outer sleeve engaging surface and an inner conical expansion surface. The expansion spacer includes a first flange configured to engage a first end of the sleeve and a second flange configured to engage a second end of the sleeve when the expansion spacer is expanded to vertically fix the expansion spacer with respect to the sleeve. An expansion screw extends through the expansion spacer and includes an outer conical expansion surface configured to cooperate with the inner conical expansion surface on the expansion spacer to radially expand the expansion spacer causing the outer sleeve engaging surface on the expansion spacer to engage the inner surface of the sleeve, thereby determining the position of the sleeve relative to the part and fixing the sleeve causing the expansion spacer to engage the sleeve. Radial expansion of the expansion spacer causes an outer surface of the expansion spacer to be positioned substantially parallel to the inner surface of the sleeve. An assembly template is configured to be arranged on soft tissue overlying the bone and includes a through hole extending therethrough, wherein the sleeve is arranged in the through hole.
Abstract:
An arrangement for application or anchoring of an implant (17) in a jaw bone (8) by means of a hole formed in the jaw bone comprises a manually driven or machine-driven part which cooperates with the hole wall and which is designed to work with a hole wall cleaning function in order to form a surgically clean cut in the jaw bone. The implant can be arranged to be applied in the hole formed, and the implant is provided with one or more threads or thread parts which, when the implant is in the applied position, can be located opposite the cortical area or areas in the jaw bone. The implant is threads at the part or parts located opposite the spongy area or areas (11) of the jaw bone. By means of the invention, a surgically clean cut is obtained which, together with the design of the implant, contributes to accelerated osseointegration.
Abstract:
A guide device is provided that can interact with a number of sleeves of a tooth template. The guide device can include a handle part, a support part, and a guide part. The handle part can include first and second parts. The first part can be connectable to the second part, and the second part can include a space having a variable size. The variable size of the space can be determined by the position of the first part relative to the second part. The supporting part can be sized and configured to engage the space of the handle for allowing selective positioning of the supporting part relative to the handle part. The guide part can be connectable to the supporting part with the guide part being operative to align a tool for use in the dental treatment.
Abstract:
A unit forms part of a dental bridge construction or template therefor. The unit comprises a shell formed by a latex tube and, arranged in the latter, a carbon fiber arrangement wetted with matrix material. The unit forms a unit which can be delivered from a factory and in which the carbon fiber arrangement is optimally wetted with matrix material comprising a one-component material without an excess of base or hardener. The unit is designed to be able to assume a state in which the matrix material is only partially polymerized. In this state of the matrix material, the unit can be stored at a temperature which delays the polymerization of the matrix material in order to permit deferred use in connection with the dental bridge construction or the template. The unit is designed so that, at the time of said use, it can be exposed to a polymerization temperature which, after the desired shaping of the unit, causes substantially accelerated solidifying of the unit in its final shape.
Abstract:
A tooth implant is used to replace a front tooth which has been lost or extracted. The implant comprises an anchoring part which is provided with an outer thread and which is applied in a recess formed in the jaw bone at the site of the lost or extracted tooth, a spacer sleeve part intended to extend through the gum of the jaw bone, and a prepared or preparable part which adjoins the spacer sleeve part and is intended to support a dental crown, for example. The anchoring part, the spacer sleeve part and the prepared or preparable part are arranged in one piece, the configuration and direction of the prepared or preparable part being substantially adapted or adaptable to the anatomy of the lost or extracted tooth, for example to the inner arc-shaped surface, and to the direction of said tooth. The one-piece implant affords a rapid and less traumatic replacement function compared to previously used three-part bridges.
Abstract:
An arrangement intended for use in the production of a carbon-fiber-reinforced dental prosthesis and comprising an elongate tube substantially following the arch shape of the dental prosthesis. Carbon fiber hoses with carbon fiber wires lie inside the tube. A substance is also arranged in the tube. The substance can be introduced in liquid form in order to surround and wet the carbon fiber material. The substance can harden inside the tube with the aid of heat treatment in order to bind the carbon fiber material together and give rise to a mechanically strong dental bridge bar. The tube is made with an initially curved shape and, before application and hardening of the substance, the carbon fiber material assumes arched shapes which follow the shape of the tube. The carbon fiber material is intended to ensure that the shape of the tube is not affected and can thus be retained with its desired course without kinks and sharp bends. The bar can in this way be arranged optimally in the dental prosthesis.
Abstract:
The application relates to an implant for insertion into a structure, a method for connecting a superstructure to the implant, and a kit comprising the implant and a superstructure. The implant can include a body having an external surface for apposition to bone, an apical end and a coronal end, an insertion interface at the coronal end for engagement with an insertion tool and for inserting the implant in an insertion direction, a connection interface adapted to connect the implant to a connection interface of a superstructure, and a retraction interface for engagement with a retraction member when the superstructure is positioned for connection to the connection interface and being configured for retracting the implant from an applied position in a retraction direction.
Abstract:
A method is provided for forming a hole in a jaw bone at a drill site. The method can comprise forming an initial hole in soft tissue of the jaw bone, advancing a first portion of the drill through the soft tissue and into a bone portion of the jaw bone to form a guidance hole in the bone portion of the jaw bone, advancing the drill until a second portion of the drill contacts the soft tissue to form an enlarged hole in the soft tissue, and further advancing the drill until the second portion of the drill contacts the bone portion of the jaw bone to form a countersink hole in the bone portion. The countersink hole can be formed to have a flat bottom that is immediately adjacent to an inclined surface thereof.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a template which locates hole positions in a jawbone while the template is separated from the jawbone by gum tissue. The template follows a contour of the gum tissue surrounding the jawbone and has guide holes which receive a cutting tool. Anchoring elements attach the template to the jawbone. A system includes means for scanning an implantation site on a patient's jawbone, simulating the implantation site, and determining nerve-rich areas or nerve paths in the jawbone. A holed template is produced which is separated from the jawbone by at least gum tissue of the patient. Attachment hole positions in the jawbone are located so as to avoid nerve paths. A method of forming holes to attach a dental implant to a patient's jaw bone without surgical intervention in gum tissue of the patient to expose the jawbone is disclosed which avoids impingement on a nerve path.
