    Abstract: The invention pertains to a handheld pipette (11) with a handle (13), an interconnecting part (15) to attach a pipette tip and an ejection mechanism to remove the pipette tip from the interconnecting part (15). The ejection mechanism has a movable slider (43) relative to the interconnecting part (15) in the area of the interconnecting part (15 that is designed to slide the pipette tip from the interconnection part (15) when operating the ejection mechanism. The pipette (11) furthermore possesses a first and a second operating element (45, 47) accessible from the outside to operate the ejection mechanism, whereby the first operating element (45) is arranged in the area of the handle (13) and is operable by hand, and where the second operating element (47) is intended to be operated by an external device (71).

    Abstract: A pipette tip rack system includes a disposable refill pack and a reusable base. After use, the disposable refill pack can be disassembled, and the components can be stacked or nested for space saving storage prior to disposal or recycling. The pipette tips in the disposable refill pack are configured to fit on a mounting shaft that includes outwardly circumferentially extending locking lobes over which the pipette tip collar is mounted. The pipette tip includes a circular cantilever sealing ring that seals laterally against the mounting shaft when the tip is fully mounted. The circular cantilever sealing ring has an annular wall surrounded by a gap. The annular wall has an inside surface that slants inward to provide a lateral interference fit with the mounting shaft. The annular wall bends radially outward towards the gap, rather than stretching, when the tip is mounted on the mounting shaft thereby reducing require insertion force. The refill pack can be made with less plastic because of the reduced cumulative insertion forces, even when loading 384 pipette tips simultaneously in an automated liquid handling system.

    Abstract: Disclosed and described is a hose for attachment to a dispensing cartridge for placement in a peristaltic pump, for stretching over a rotor of the peristaltic pump, and for conveying a medium by external mechanical deformation of the hose. The hose has a length of preferably 20 mm to 200 mm, an internal cross-sectional area of 0.07 to 7.07 mm2, and a wall thickness of 0.3 mm to 2.2 mm. Thickenings are formed at both ends of the hose and the distance between the thickenings is 40 mm to 100 mm. According to the invention, it is provided that the hose is manufactured by an injection molding process, the inner cross-sectional area has a tolerance of at most±33%, and the hose is suitable for closing completely when stretched over the rotor with a tension force of 1 to 10 N.

    Abstract: A pipette tip configured to fit on a mounting shaft that includes outwardly circumferentially extending locking lobes over which the pipette tip collar is mounted. When the pipette tip is fully mounted on the mounting shaft, a locking ring on the inside surface of the tip collar engages the lobes to provide an over-center engagement.
