    Abstract: An LDPC code encoding method and a communication apparatus are described that provide increased redundant bits through retransmission in an IR-HARQ mechanism, so as to decrease a channel coding rate, and improve decoding performance of an LDPC code. A check matrix of the LDPC code is used as a basic matrix, and the basic matrix is extended to obtain a mother matrix compatible with a plurality of code rates. During LDPC encoding, a transmit device reads, from the mother matrix, a check matrix corresponding to a required code rate, and performs LDPC encoding on an information bit sequence based on the read check matrix. LDPC encoding is performed on the information bit sequence by using check matrices of different sizes, to obtain different quantities of redundant bits.

    Abstract: This application relates to a method for determining a length of an low-density parity-check (LDPC) code word in a ultra-wideband (UWB) system and a related apparatus. The method includes a communication apparatus that determines a length of an LDPC code based on a length of a to-be-encoded information bit. When the length of the information bit ranges from 0 to 324, a 648-bit LDPC code is selected. When the length of the information bit ranges from 325 to 648 or from 973 to 1296, a 1296-bit LDPC code is selected. When the length of the information bit ranges from 649 to 972, a 1944-bit LDPC code is selected. According to embodiments of this application, higher performance gain can be achieved.

    Abstract: This application discloses an LDPC encoding and decoding method and a related apparatus. This application supports 802.11 series protocols such as Wi-Fi 8, UWB. The method includes: performing low-density parity-check LDPC encoding on an information bit sequence based on a parity check matrix, to obtain a first code word, where the parity check matrix complies with a base matrix, and the base matrix meets one of the following: Each row in the first two columns of the base matrix includes at least one 1, or the first two columns of the base matrix include “1 0” and “0 1” that alternate regularly, and “1 1” is included between “1 0” and “0 1”; and sending the first code word. The parity check matrix complies with the base matrix, which can accelerate an overall decoding convergence speed of a system.

    Abstract: A convolutional code rate matching method and a communication apparatus are provided. A puncturing pattern of a second codeword at a second code rate is obtained based on a puncturing pattern of a first codeword at a first code rate. A second puncturing location set of the second codeword is a subset of a first puncturing location set of the first codeword. When a transmit device decreases a code rate from the first code rate to the second code rate, a redundant bit is sent at a location of a complementary set of the second puncturing location set relative to the first puncturing location set. Compared with the first puncturing location set, the second puncturing location set may obtain more incremental redundant bits, to decrease a channel encoding rate. This can improve decoding performance of a convolutional code.
