    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications technologies, and provide a random access method and an apparatus, to resolve a prior-art problem that user equipment cannot accurately select a resource on a non-anchor carrier to perform random access. The method includes: measuring, by user equipment UE in a first measurement period T1, reference signal received power (RSRP) W1 on an anchor carrier; determining, by the UE, a first coverage level based on W1; and determining, by the UE, a first resource based on the first coverage level, where the first resource is used by the UE to perform random access on a non-anchor carrier.

    Abstract: A channel estimation method, a base station, user equipment (UE), and a system are provided. The method includes: setting up, by a base station, a connection to user equipment UE; and sending, to the UE, notification information indicating that the UE is in a radio remote scenario, where the notification information is used to instruct the UE to perform channel estimation by using a channel estimation algorithm applicable to the radio remote scenario, and the channel estimation algorithm is used to perform channel estimation on a signal that is obtained after downlink signals from multiple radio remote units RRUs are superposed. The UE can perform channel estimation by using the appropriate channel estimation algorithm, to effectively improve accuracy of the channel estimation, thereby effectively improving a downlink data throughput of the UE.

    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and an apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal apparatus, first information from a second base station, where the first information includes network-based cell-specific reference signal CRS bandwidth mitigation status information of a first base station, the second base station is a base station of a serving cell of the terminal apparatus, and the first base station is a base station of a neighboring cell of the serving cell; determining, by the terminal apparatus, a measurement bandwidth value based on at least the first information; and measuring, by the terminal apparatus based on the measurement bandwidth value, at least one of signal strength or signal quality of the serving cell in which the terminal apparatus is located or the neighboring cell of the serving cell.

A specific solution is: A determining unit determines a downlink frequency shift according to a received uplink signal sent by a terminal device, and determines a second transmit frequency according to the downlink frequency shift and a first transmit frequency; and a sending unit sends a downlink signal to the terminal device according to the second transmit frequency determined by the determining unit, so that the terminal device receives the downlink signal according to a receive frequency corresponding to the first transmit frequency, where the downlink signal includes at least one of a DMRS or downlink data. The present invention is applied in a data transmission process.
