摘要: Search results are ranked by applying sub-relevancies within a search result list. This permits search result lists to be further refined into more manageable relevant groupings from a user's perspective. The sub-relevancies or ‘group-by’ parameters are derived from search result attributes. Attribute values from the attributes are employed in a ranking scheme to group the search results based on attribute value relevancy. The grouped search results can then be displayed to users via a search result page. In one instance users can select which attribute value is used to group the search result list. Ranking processes are based on object ranking algorithms that consider each attribute value as an object type. Some instances provide for search result list group condensing based on relevancy of the attribute values as well. A top-k instance can be employed to limit the search results to control the amount of time required for processing groupings.

摘要: A method and system for recommending potential contacts to a target user is provided. A recommendation system identifies users who are related to the target user through no more than a maximum degree of separation. The recommendation system identifies the users by starting with the contacts of the target user and identifying users who are contacts of the target user's contacts, contacts of those contacts, and so on. The recommendation system then ranks the identified users, who are potential contacts for the target user, based on a likelihood that the target user will want to have a direct relationship with the identified users. The recommendation system then presents to the target user a ranking of the users who have not been filtered out.

摘要: Disclosed are a method and a device for adjusting screen locking time, and an electronic terminal. Time interval values T1, T2, . . . , and TN between screen locking and screen unlocking for consecutive N times are acquired, and when it is determined that the acquired time interval values T1, T2, . . . , and TN are all in a preset threshold range, a current screen locking time value is updated into the sum of the current screen locking time value and a preset time delay value. In the disclosure, a usage situation in which the terminal automatically locks the screen and a user unlocks the screen is monitored in real time, and according to the time intervals between screen locking and screen unlocking for consecutive N times, it is determined whether the current screen locking time is appropriate in the current usage environment and situation. When the determining result is that the current screen locking time is inappropriate, the current screen locking time value is automatically updated into the current screen locking time value plus the preset time delay value, so as to achieve the objective of dynamically adjusting the screen locking time according to the current usage environment and situation, thereby effectively reducing the unlocking operations and screen locking settings of the user and improving satisfaction in the user experience.

摘要: A web page evaluation technique includes obtaining a plurality of web pages with the same or approximately the same content. Further, a plurality of generation times and a plurality of first evaluation values that correspond to respective ones of the plurality of web pages are determined. A web page among the plurality of web pages that has the earliest generation time is identified. A second evaluation value of the identified web page is determined according to the plurality of first evaluation values. The second evaluation value can be used to indicate a ranking of the identified web page.

摘要: Described are techniques to use adaptive learning to control bandwidth or rate of transmission of a computer on a network. Congestion observations such as packet delay and packet loss are used to compute a congestion signal. The congestion signal is correlated with information about actual congestion on the network, and the transmission rate is adjusted according to the degree of correlation. Transmission rate may not adjust when packet delay or packet loss is not strongly correlated with actual congestion. The congestion signal is adaptively learned. For instance, the relative effects of loss and delay on the congestion signal may change over time. Moreover, an operating congestion level may be minimized by adaptive adjustment.
