Abstract: A method of time synchronization between a DS-TT module inside a logical TSN bridge of a communication network with a TSN Grandmaster (GM) in a TSN Time Domain of the communication network. The method comprises, at a NW-TT module inside the logical TSN bridge, determining a frequency rate ratio between a Time Domain clock frequency (f5GS) and a TSN Time Domain clock frequency (fTSN). Then, using the frequency rate ratio and respective times of receipt of a TSN GM synchronization message at an ingress port of the NW-TT module and at an ingress port of the DS-TT module to determine a DS-TT ingress residence time (RDS-TT). Then, using the RDS-TT to synchronize the DS-TT module with the TSN GM.

Abstract: Described is a method of synchronizing a TSN NW-TT module inside a UPF with a Grandmaster (GM) in a Time Domain of the communication network. The method comprises receiving one or more PTP or gPTP messages on an N3 interface of the UPF. The method includes determining a first time offset value between the GM and the UPF N3 interface based on information received in the PTP or gPTP messages. A timing of the UPF N3 interface is adjusted using the determined first time offset value to synchronize the time between the UPF N3 interface and the GM. The method includes determining a second time offset value between the UPF N3 interface and the NW-TT module. A timing of the NW-TT module is adjusted using the determined second time offset value to synchronize the time between the NW-TT module and the GM.

Abstract: Described is a method of processing data packets in a communications network. The method comprises receiving a first data packet of a data packet flow from a network device and determining an instruction set for processing said first data packet. A flow key for said first data packet is determined. The first data packet is processed according to the determined instruction set. The method includes receiving a subsequent data packet and determining if a flow key of said subsequent data packet matches said flow key of said first data packet. If yes, the subsequent data packet is processed using the instruction set determined for said first data packet.
