    摘要: A building sheet suitable for roofing and siding use that accommodates fastening along ribs or valleys of a side lapped juncture between two sheets. Strengthening ribs formed from bends in the sheet are shaped to promote stacking, to consume little of the sheet width, and to avoid sharp bends that crack protective coatings. An anti-siphon gap is provided between each lapped and lapping rib, extending the full height of the lapped rib adjacent the lapping edge. A drain trough formed at the base of the gap carries away any water that leaks beneath the overlapping sheet. Low ribs delineate channels in which fasteners can be driven to engage an underlapped edge at a side lap juncture between sheets. A top flat surface of high ribs is narrow enough for stiffness to inhibit deformation by fasteners and restricts the fasteners to locations that avoid drain penetration at side laps.

    摘要: Included in a panel assembly are panels each having opposite side walls terminating respectively in a standing fixed male seam and a standing deformable female seam. Similar ones of these panels are laterally joined to one another in a secure manner atop underlying support elements by mounting clips disposed intermediate juxtaposed side walls of adjacent panels. Assembly is achieved by sequentially inserting an uppermost flange on the mounting clips into a groove in the male seam of a first panel prior to rotating the clips downwardly juxtaposition the panel side wall and anchoring the clips to the support elements. Then a next panel is lowered with a downwardly facing cavity on its female seam overlying the first panel male seam, followed by roll-crimping of a portion of the uppermost female seam about the innermost male seam and mounting clip flange.

    摘要: A threaded joint for well casings and tubings includes a coupling or integral socket into which pipe sections are threaded. The coupling or socket includes an inner, unthreaded portion and an outer portion having threads on its inner surface. The pipe sections include an end having a threaded portion and an unthreaded nose portion at the outer end of the threaded portion. The nose portion terminates with an annular surface and includes a plurality of convex surfaces of revolution extending circumferentially of the nose portion, all of which surfaces are adapted to engage the unthreaded portion of the coupling or socket to establish a fluid-tight seal. The thread construction is a modified buttress type with relatively flat crests and roots. An interference fit occurs between thread portions not likely to be damaged during handling, and clearance between other thread portions permits the joint connection to be made with reduced friction and with reduced concern for machining tolerances. To increase effective wall thickness and overall strength of the joint, the threads are truncated to vanishing points. Hoop stresses are made low and relatively uniform throughout the entire range of tubing and casing diameters.

The panel faces are configured to provide shadow texture, while masking of the posts and top girts in a free-standing type wall is obtained by a split cover assembly and split cap trim, respectively.
