Abstract: This application provides a signal generation method and an apparatus. In the method, a first communication apparatus generates a first signal, and sends the first signal to a second communication apparatus, who receives the first signal, and then demodulates the first signal. A symbol included in the first signal is carried on K+2(M−1) subcarriers. Middle K subcarriers are valid subcarriers, start M−1 subcarriers and last M−1 subcarriers are redundant subcarriers, and a subcarrier spacing between adjacent subcarriers is related to a feature of a time domain pulse used to shape the subcarrier, wherein a width of each of some or all side lobes of a spectrum of the time domain pulse is equal to 1/M of a main lobe width of the time domain pulse, the subcarrier spacing is 1/M of the main lobe width. K is a positive integer, and M is a positive integer greater than 1.

Abstract: A wireless communication method includes determining a length of a ZC sequence based on a resource block quantity or a subcarrier quantity corresponding to a system bandwidth and determining a reference signal sequence included in an uplink reference signal based on the length of the ZC sequence and a resource block quantity or a subcarrier quantity corresponding to an allocated user bandwidth that is a part of the system bandwidth. When different communications devices use the same system bandwidth for communication, reference signal sequences used by the different communications devices correspond to the same ZC sequence length. The ZC sequence length is exclusively designed for a resource block quantity or a carrier quantity of the system bandwidth. Generation of the reference signal sequences is related to mapped locations of the reference signal sequences. Therefore, reference signal sequences used by different communications devices have a relatively high cross correlation.

Abstract: A signal sending method and apparatus, to improve channel estimation performance are provided. A reference signal is sent on one or more consecutive symbols, and modulation data is sent on an adjacent symbol previous to the one or more consecutive symbols in time domain and an adjacent symbol next to the one or more consecutive symbols in time domain. A sum of the modulation data carried in the symbol previous to the one or more consecutive symbols and the modulation data carried in the symbol next to the one or more consecutive symbols is zero or the modulation data is the same. According to the application, after time-domain filtering, the reference signal is not interfered with by the adjacent modulation data, so that channel estimation performance can be ensured.
