Abstract: This application discloses a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A terminal device receives, in a first cell, configuration information of at least one candidate cell from an access network device; and selects a second cell when a radio link of the first cell meets a first condition (that is, a problem occurs on the radio link of the first cell). If the second cell belongs to the at least one candidate cell, the terminal device is handed over from the first cell to the second cell, and communicates with the access network device in the second cell based on configuration information of the second cell.

Abstract: An inter-distributed-unit (distributed unit, DU) communication method and a related apparatus are provided. The method includes: A first DU receives data of a terminal from a central unit (central unit, CU). The first DU processes the data by using a media access control (media access control, MAC) entity scheduling function specific to the terminal, to obtain a physical layer transmission data stream. The first DU sends the physical layer transmission data stream to a second DU. In the method provided in this application, because a MAC entity of the first DU is used to uniformly schedule the physical layer transmission data stream, the first DU and the second DU do not need to exchange a large amount of layer 2 (layer 2, L2) parameter information, so that information transmission overheads can be reduced.

Abstract: A beam failure recovery BFR method and an apparatus are provided. The method includes: A terminal receives indication information of a first threshold and a second threshold, where the second threshold is used to determine that a beam failure occurs on an access network device. The terminal collects statistics on quantities of beam failure instance times of one or more access network devices that communicate with the terminal based on beams in a cell; and performs beam recovery on an access network device whose quantity of beam failure instance times is greater than or equal to the first threshold and less than the second threshold. The method and the apparatus in this application can further reduce a possibility of the beam failure, improve network reliability, and avoid beam failures on a plurality of devices in the cell at the same time.
