    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dirty paper coding (DPC) scheme for a wireless communication system. One example encoding device obtains symbol probabilities for symbols of a symbol sequence given an effective interference based on a target distribution of symbols of a transmit signal, encodes a message into the symbol sequence based on the symbol probabilities, and then obtains the transmit signal based on a mapping of the symbol sequence and the effective interference using a scalar function. One example decoding device obtains a receive signal, obtains a symbol sequence based on the receive signal and a scaling factor using a scalar function, and then decodes the symbol sequence to obtain a message.

    Abstract: Example transmission methods and apparatus are described. In one example method, a transmitter is configured to communicate with a receiver via a communication channel. The transmitter is configured to precode a data word into a precoded data word using a probabilistic shaping scheme, wherein the probabilistic shaping scheme depends on one or more precoding parameters. The precoded data word is encoded into a codeword using a modulation and/or coding scheme, wherein the modulation and/or coding scheme depends on one or more modulation and coding parameters. At least one precoding parameter is determined on the basis of at least one of the one or more modulation and coding parameters and/or on the basis of at least one further precoding parameter.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for multi-level encoding of an input message sequence into a symbol sequence, for instance, based on polar coding. The input message comprises information bits. The apparatus is configured to divide the input message into a plurality of sub-messages, encode each of the sub-messages into a codeword, wherein a set of the sub-messages is encoded on the basis of the codewords obtained by encoding the sub-messages not in the set and a predefined function of the symbol sequence, and map the encoded sub-messages into corresponding symbols.

    Abstract: Allocation of CSI-RS or CSI pilot sequences among cells in a cooperative manner to reduce pilot inter-cell interference. Sequences in each cell occupy the same time slot, multiple subcarrier frequencies, and are orthogonal in time via properly chosen cyclic shifts. Sequences in multiple cells are chosen from a pool of non-orthogonal yet distinguishable sequences through their root indices. Exchanging root indices among cells allows a given cell to reconstruct sequences used in neighboring cells and to estimate interfering channels as the number of channel taps is usually limited, thus mitigating pilot contamination. Furthermore, a greedy selection algorithm to find combinations of sequences that further reduce the channel estimation mean-square-error is proposed.
