Abstract: A device translates between a first communication network, in particular a deterministic communication network, and a second communication network, in particular a mobile communication network, in particular a 5G communication network. The device is configured to execute an application function that is configured to translate between Quality-of-Service, QoS, parameters of the first communication network and QoS parameters of the second communication network. A QoS profile includes the QoS parameters of the first communication network translated by the application function and, optionally, additional QoS parameters originating from the second communication network. The device is further configured to execute a signaling procedure configured to exchange the translated QoS parameters within the second communication network.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a network entity for a wireless network system. The network entity is configured to obtain an ingress time of a received packet, the ingress time indicating the time at which the packet enters the network system, determine time information regarding the packet based on the ingress time, and provide the time information to another network entity. A further network entity for a wireless network system is configured to obtain time information regarding a received packet from another network entity, and obtain an egress time of the packet, the egress time indicating a time at which the packet leaves the network system, based on the time information. This disclosure also relates to the network entities that are configured to synchronize an internal time valid at the network entities with an external time valid at an external network entity.

Abstract: An apparatus for managing communication links with a plurality of traffic nodes registered with a radio network configured to receive a request from a first traffic node to establish a communication link with a second traffic node, which is one of the plurality of traffic nodes. The apparatus further receives, from the first traffic node, object description information associated with the request, compares the object description information with stored information relating to at least some of the plurality of traffic nodes, determines, based on the comparison, a likelihood that the object description information pertains to the second traffic node and decides, based on the determination, whether to grant the request. The apparatus is able to act as a traffic node manager for the radio network and could be a network node such as a Base Station or Base Transceiver Station or a dedicated vehicle identity manager for example.

Abstract: A network operator apparatus, a teleoperation application (TOApplication) apparatus, and an apparatus for a teleoperable vehicle are provided. The network operator apparatus creates a network slice for teleoperating the teleoperable vehicle along at least one route, receives a slice configuration request comprising QoS for the at least one route from the TOApplication apparatus, and configures the network slice to support the QoS. The TOApplication apparatus communicates towards the network operator apparatus, a request for creating the network slice, receives a teleoperation service request comprising a set of teleoperation configurations from the teleoperable vehicle, maps each teleoperation configuration to a respective QoS and sends the slice configuration request comprising the QoS to the network operator apparatus. The apparatus for the teleoperable vehicle sends the teleoperation service request to the TOApplication apparatus and controls the route to be followed by the teleoperable vehicle based on information from the TOApplication apparatus.

Abstract: A local entity is proposed for determination of user equipment location in a mobile communication network. The local entity is configured to be run on a first user equipment and/or in an access network. The local entity is configured to receive location information of a target user equipment, and determine a location of the target user equipment based on the location information. This is advantageous because the determination of the location can be improved with regard to a determination of the location carried out by the core network. Particularly, the location can be determined without the core network being involved.

Abstract: A node comprises a location unit determines that the node requires positioning support from the anchor nodes, and a transmitter to transmit a request for positioning support from the anchor nodes. The node comprises a selection unit to select a set of the plurality of anchor nodes for providing positioning support following the transmission of the request. It also causes the transmitter to transmit an instruction to each anchor node in the set that instructs that anchor node to provide positioning support to the node via a sidelink between that respective anchor node and the node. The request for positioning support is transmitted at a time that suits the node, in dependence on its own situation and the requirements of any applications it might be running. The selection unit enables the node to make a dynamic selection of appropriate anchor nodes at the time when the node needs positioning support.
