Abstract: The present disclosure relates to provide a text input method and an electronic device, where the method includes: obtaining characters entered by a user; parsing the characters to generate and display at least one group of candidate text corresponding to the characters; obtaining an operation performed on to-be-entered text by the user, where the to-be-entered text is any one of the at least one group of candidate text; determining, according to the obtained operation, an input location that is of the to-be-entered text in entered text and that is corresponding to the operation; and inserting the to-be-entered text in the input location.
