Abstract: Example optical devices are described. One example optical device includes a receiver. The receiver includes a photodetector, a first amplifier, a second amplifier, and a controller, where the photodetector is coupled to the first amplifier, the first amplifier is coupled to the second amplifier, and the first amplifier and the second amplifier are separately coupled to the controller. The controller is configured to control a gain of the first amplifier and a gain of the second amplifier based on a preset arrival time of an optical signal and a gain intensity corresponding to the optical signal. The photodetector is configured to receive the optical signal and convert the optical signal into a current signal. The first amplifier is configured to convert the current signal into a first voltage signal. The second amplifier is configured to convert the first voltage signal into a second voltage signal.

Abstract: A status control method, applied to an optical network unit (ONU) or an optical network terminal (ONT) of a passive optical network (PON) includes: receiving a first downlink data frame, where the first downlink data frame includes data of N different rates and indication information, the indication information includes length information of data of each rate in the first downlink data frame, and N≥2; determining length information of first data in the data of the N different rates, where a rate of the first data is higher than a working rate of a clock and data recovery (CDR) module; and generating control information based on the length information of the first data, to control the CDR module to be in a specified state within a period of time corresponding to the length information of the first data.

Abstract: This application provides a port detection method, an optical network device, and a passive optical network system, to quickly and accurately detect a port connected to an ONU, and improve efficiency of determining the port connected to the ONU. The method includes: an optical line terminal sends optical signals corresponding to all of N wavelengths to at least one optical network unit, where the N wavelengths are different from each other, and N is a positive integer; the OLT receives optical power values that are of the optical signals corresponding to all of the N wavelengths and that are sent by a first ONU, where the first ONU is any one of the at least one ONU; and the OLT determines, bases on the optical power values of the optical signals corresponding to all of the N wavelengths, information about an optical splitter port corresponding to the first ONU.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a downstream data frame transmitting method. The method includes: generating, by an OLT, a downstream data frame, where the downstream data frame includes a frame header and a payload, the frame header includes a physical synchronization sequence (Psync) field, and the Psync field is used to identify the downstream data frame, where when a value of the Psync field is a first value, the Psync field is further used to indicate that payload data is protected by forward error correction (FEC); or when a value of the Psync field is a second value, the Psync field is further used to indicate that payload data is not protected by FEC; and sending, by the OLT, the downstream data frame. The embodiments of the present invention can reduce a bit error rate of a FEC indication status and improve reliability of the FEC indication status.
