Abstract: A packet handling method, comprising: receiving a TCP ACK packet currently sent by a client; searching in a storage device for a TCP packet requested for retransmission by the TCP ACK packet when it is determined that the Acknowledge Number field value in the TCP header of the TCP ACK packet currently sent by the client is equal to that previously sent by the client over the same TCP connection; discarding the TCP ACK packet and transmitting the TCP packet to the client when the TCP packet requested for retransmission is found in the storage device. In comparison to the prior art, where the TCP packet at anytime is directly transmitted by a server to the client via the forwarding device, bandwidth between the server and the forwarding device is saved, thereby network congestion is reduced, and network resource utilization is increased.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for generating an input parameter and a device. A first network device receives a packet; determines, according to an identifier of a first packet header in a rule set, whether the packet includes the first packet header, where the rule set includes a first rule, the first rule includes the identifier of the first packet header and first operation information, and the first operation information includes extracting a first parameter from the first packet header. Abstract: This application describes a congestion control method and apparatus. In this application, a network device obtains time information of one or more congestion packets in a sent first data stream, where the one or more congestion packet carries a flag indicating a congestion notification. When the first data stream is congested, the network device obtains a first congestion notification packet based on the time information of the one or more congestion packets in the first data stream, where the first congestion notification packet notifies that a packet is congested beyond a first specified interval. The network device then sends the first congestion notification packet. According to the solutions in this application, a rate of a data stream can be prevented from being increased when the data stream is congested, and packet transmission efficiency is improved.
