    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a client device and a network access node for transmitting and receiving a random access preamble which comprises a division of a set of resource blocks available for transmission of the random access preamble into at least two subsets of resource blocks, wherein each resource block in the set of resource blocks comprises a plurality of subcarriers, a first selection of resource blocks within the first subset of resource blocks and a second selection of resource blocks within the second subset of resource blocks, wherein the first selection of resource blocks is different to the second selection of resource blocks, and a mapping of a modulation sequence of the random access preamble onto at least one subcarrier in each selected resource block. Thereby, lower side-lobes of the auto-correlation function is achieved. Furthermore, the present disclosure also relates to corresponding methods and a computer program.

    Abstract: A client device for wireless communication has a transceiver, and a processor. The transceiver receives frequency resource information to indicate a set of frequency resources for a PRACH preamble transmission. The frequency resource information indicates each frequency resource having: interlace information of B-IFDM allocation, resource element allocation information indicating a subset of resource elements within each block of the B-IFDM interlace, and resource element spacing information, such that a resource element within a block of the B-IFDM interlace is allocated for the transmission of one PRACH preamble according to a T-IFDM allocation. The resource element allocation is repeated in each block of the B-IFDM interlace. The processor is configured to select a frequency resource based on the received frequency resource information, and generate a PRACH preamble to be transmitted on the selected frequency resource. The transceiver transmits the generated PRACH preamble on the selected frequency resource.

    Abstract: A transmitting device is described for a communication system. The transmitting device obtains an information message comprising information bits addressed for a receiving device and encodes the information message to obtain a codeword. The transmitting device rate-matches the codeword to produce a rate-matched codeword comprising systematic bits and parity-check bits. Furthermore, the transmitting device jointly interleaves the systematic bits and parity-check bits of the rate-matched codeword to obtain an interleaved codeword. The systematic bits of the interleaved codeword are mapped to modulation label positions of a modulation constellation with first reliabilities, and the parity-check bits of the interleaved codeword are mapped to modulation label positions of the modulation constellation with second reliabilities.

    Abstract: A codeword bit interleaving scheme for multilayer transmissions in a wireless communication system. The codeword bit interleaving scheme involves dividing columns of an interleaving matrix into at least two disjoint column groups based on transmission qualities (e.g., SNRs) of data transmission layers (e.g., MIMO layers). The column groups are then filled with codeword bits, starting with writing information bits into the column group(s) corresponding to the high-quality data transmission layers. After that, the column groups are all merged to restore the initial column arrangement of the interleaving matrix, and the codeword bits are read from the interleaving matrix row-wise and mapped to modulation symbols. The modulation symbols are in turn mapped to the data transmission layers themselves.
