摘要: A cylinder device includes: an inner cylinder in which a functional fluid, a fluid property of which is changed due to an electric field or a magnetic field, is encapsulated; an outer cylinder provided outside the inner cylinder; an intermediate cylinder provided between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder to serve as an electrode or a magnetic pole; a rod guide provided to close the one end side end portions of the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder; a spacer having one end located at the rod guide side and the other end located at the one end side of the intermediate cylinder, and fitted to the inner cylinder; and an elastic seal member disposed in a portion of the other end of the spacer, and configured to seal the one end side end portion of the passage between the intermediate cylinder and the inner cylinder.

摘要: A flow of hydraulic oil induced by sliding movement of a piston in a cylinder is controlled by a damping force generating mechanism to generate a damping force. A flow of hydraulic oil from a casing of the damping force generating mechanism toward a reservoir is regulated by a passage groove formed on the bottom of the casing so as to be directed downward in the reservoir. Thus, the hydraulic oil is efficiently supplied to a base valve from the damping force generating mechanism even when the hydraulic oil is sucked from the reservoir into a cylinder lower chamber through a passage in the base valve during the extension stroke of a piston rod. Therefore, it is possible to suppress a sharp reduction in pressure in the lower part of the reservoir and hence possible to suppress the occurrence of aeration and to obtain stable damping force characteristics.

摘要: Electro-rheological fluid serving as working fluid (2) is filled in a shock absorber (1). The shock absorber (1) is configured to control a generated damping force by generating an electric potential difference in an electrode passage (19) and controlling viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid which passes through the electrode passage (19). An adjusting valve (21) configured to generate a damping force is provided on a downstream side of the electrode passage (19). An orifice area, a spring stiffness, a port area, and the like of the adjusting valve (21) can be adjusted (changed) in accordance with a type, specifications, and the like of a vehicle in which the shock absorber (1) is installed. As a result, the damping force characteristic can be tuned as desired by a method other than adjustment of the damping force through voltage adjustment when the working fluid (2) passes through the electrode passage (19).

The flow path obliquely extends around the inner cylinder or the flow path forming unit, and the flow path has a first portion extending m a first oblique direction and a second portion extending in a second oblique direction opposite to the first oblique direction.

摘要: A shock absorber includes a reservoir between a cylinder and an outer tube, in which hydraulic liquid and gas are sealed; a middle tube between the cylinder and the outer tube; a connecting pipe in the lateral wall of the middle tube, which includes a tip end extending toward the outside of the outer tube; an opening in the outer tube, allowing hydraulic liquid to flow from the outside of the outer tube into the reservoir through the outer side of the connecting pipe; and a partition member in the reservoir, which includes a partition wall that configured to regulate hydraulic liquid's upward flow from the opening in the reservoir. The partition member is made of flexible resin or rubber, provided with a fitting hole, and fitted to the connecting pipe with interference with the connecting pipe inserted through the hole.
