摘要： A motion picture film photographic element is disclosed comprising a support having on a front side thereof a subbing layer unit and one or more image-forming units comprising at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer coated over the subbing layer unit, wherein the layers coated on the front side of the support comprise in total from 5 to 30 mg/m2 of dispersed carbon particles, and the majority of the dispersed carbon particles is contained in the emulsion layer or layers of the one or more image forming units or in intercoat layers which may be present between two emulsion layers. The motion picture photographic film clement provides improved performance when marked by means of a laser beam.

摘要： A hydrophobically capped oligomeric acrylamide or pyrrolidone is employed as a dispersant for hydrophobic materials in an aqueous medium containing a hydrophilic colloid, e.g. gelatin. The hydrophobic materials include photographic addenda such as color couplers or solid particle dyes. Preferred dispersants have the general formula R—L—T (1) or in which R, R1 and R2 are each independently selected from aliphatic hydrocarbyl, aryl-(aliphatic hydrocarbyl) and (aliphatic hydrocarbyl)-aryl groups, L is a sulphur atom or a linking group that contains a sulphur atom attached to the T group, and T is a hydrophilic oligomeric group obtained by the oligomerisation of one or more vinyl monomers having an amido function.

The photographic elements exhibit good yellow image dye light stability, which is not degraded by the presence of relatively high logP value solvents in immediately adjacent hydrophilic colloid layers and other adjacent imaging layers.

摘要： A silver halide light sensitive photographic element is disclosed comprising a support bearing at least one cyan image forming hydrophilic colloid layer comprising cyan image dye forming coupler of Formula I and benzoic acid ester or diester high boiling solvent of Formula II. wherein Ra is an alkyl group, Rb is a ballast group, and X is hydrogen or a coulping-off group. wherein: each m is independently 0, 1, 2 or 3; each R1 is an individually selected alkyl group with up to four carbon atoms; n is 1 to 7; each R2, R3, R4 and R5 may be the same or different and is individually selected from hydrogen or an alkyl group with up to four carbon atoms; p is 0 to 3; q is 1 to 7; r is 0 or 1; and the log P of the solvent is at least 4.0. The photographic elements of the invention provide high cyan coupler reactivity and form deep cyan dye hues upon photographic processing without degrading cyan dye dark stability. The elements are relatively insensitive to processing developer modifications and employ solvents which are expected to have low undesirable biological effects.

摘要： A silver halide light sensitive photographic element is disclosed comprising a support bearing at least one yellow image forming hydrophilic colloid layer comprising yellow image dye forming couplers and a substituted bisphenol light stabilizer compound which has a melting point of greater than 20.degree. C., wherein the yellow image forming layer contains less than 10 wt % high boiling permanent solvent relative to the total amount of yellow coupler in the layer. In preferred embodiments of the invention, the yellow image forming layer is substantially free of high boiling permanent solvent. Light stability for yellow image dyes formed in an exposed and processed photographic element may be significantly improved where the yellow dyes are formed in a photographic layer which is substantially free of organic solvents, or which contains only a very low level of organic solvents, in combination with a substituted bisphenol light stabilizer compound which is a solid at room temperature.
