Abstract: An example medical instrument for creating tracks within target tissue. Medicants could be injected into these tracks for diffusion into the surrounding tissue. An exemplary medical device includes a first tissue penetrating device, a second tissue penetrating device and a handle. The handle includes a first component connected to the first tissue penetrating device and a second component connected to the second tissue penetrating device. When the second component is at a first position relative to the first component, the second tissue penetrating device is in a non-track creation configuration. When the second component is at a second position relative to the first component, the second tissue penetrating device is in a track creation configuration. The second tissue penetrating device is slidably received within the first tissue penetrating device.

Abstract: A device having a sheath, a medical device, a stylet, a handle and a plunger device. The handle includes portions connected proximal ends of the sheath, the medical device and the stylet and a chamber portion connected to the actuator. The chamber portion includes a volume of space configured to volumetrically connect to at a lumen of the medical device, the sheath or the stylet and a plunger device configured to be slidably received within the chamber portion. The plunger device is able to pneumatically isolate a proximal portion of the volume of space from a distal portion of the volume of space. Proximal movement of the stylet and the plunger device cause a suction effect (i.e., reduced pressure) at the distal end of the sheath, the medical device and/or the stylet.

Abstract: A medical device system for the delivery of energy to a region of a patient's anatomy is provided. An introducer tube defines a lumen therein and bears a first electrode. A second electrode is movable within the lumen between a retracted position and an extended position. In the retracted position, the second electrode is substantially disposed within the lumen. In the extended position, the second electrode extends at least partially beyond the distal end of the introducer tube. In one form, the introducer tube is configured to substantially hold the second electrode within the lumen in a predetermined orientation in the extended position, and the introducer tube prevents the second electrode from substantially rotating within the lumen of the introducer tube during movement into the extended position. In one form, the introducer tube is more flexible in a first plane than in a second plane.
