    Abstract: A method for making smart glasses includes obtaining a monocoque temple pre-form made as a one-piece seamless shell structure with shell walls enclosing a hollow compartment. The hollow compartment has an open end and a bottom opposite the open end. The method further includes inserting a first pre-assembled smart glasses components module into the hollow compartment through the open end of the hollow compartment and disposing the first pre-assembled smart glasses components module at a bottom of the hollow compartment. The method further includes inserting a second pre-assembled smart glasses components module through the open end of the hollow compartment, electrically connecting the second pre-assembled smart glasses components module to the first pre-assembled smart glasses components module, and attaching the monocoque temple pre-form to a frame of the smart glasses.

    Abstract: An optical device includes a lightguide and a display at a top of a head mountable frame. The display is oriented toward an eye-side of the optical device. A reflector is positioned at an eye-side of the optical device and directs light into the lightguide. This orientation and arrangement of components reduces light leaking out of the optical device. The lightguide includes curved first and second surfaces. The device reflects light through the curved first surface to a user eye for augmented reality vision. A head mountable frame supports the display, the reflector, and the lightguide.

    Abstract: An optical device includes a display that emits light through a polarization grating and then through a field lens toward a lightguide. Display light reflects from lightguide surfaces by total internal reflection (TIR). The display is mounted proximate to the lightguide. The optical device includes a first surface at an eye-side of the optical device and a second surface at a world-side. The optical device includes a first material having a first Abbe number and a second material having a second Abbe number different from the first Abbe number. The polarization grating, the first material, and the second material cause a color correction to light from the display or alter a chromatic aberration of the light from the display. A head mountable frame supports the display and the lightguide including the first and second materials.

    Abstract: This application is directed to a display assistant device that acts as a voice-activated user interface device. The display assistant device includes a base, a screen and a speaker. The base is configured for sitting on a surface. The screen has a rear surface and is supported by the base at the rear surface. A bottom edge of the screen is configured to be held above the surface by a predefined height, and the base is substantially hidden behind the screen from a front view of the display assistant device. The speaker is concealed inside the base and configured to project sound substantially towards the front view of the display assistant device.
