    摘要: An assembly according to the present disclosure includes a bezel having a first aperture therethrough. The bezel has a first face and a second face. The second face is provided with a plurality of retention loops. The assembly includes an elongate member disposed at least partially within the first aperture. The elongate member is generally fixedly positioned relative to the bezel. The assembly further includes a movable closeout feature having a second aperture therethrough. The elongate member is disposed at least partially within the second aperture. The movable closeout feature is provided with a plurality of tabs. Respective tabs of the plurality of tabs are disposed in corresponding respective loops of the plurality of retention loops. The movable closeout feature is repositionable relative to the bezel by contact with the elongate member.

    摘要: An elastically averaging alignment and retention system for a sealable compartment includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a first alignment member and an elastically deformable alignment element fixedly disposed with respect to the first alignment member, the elastically deformable alignment element having an elongated hollow tube. The second component includes a second alignment member and an alignment feature fixedly disposed with respect to the second alignment member, the alignment feature having a blind-end pocket. The elastically deformable alignment element is configured and disposed to interferingly, deformably and matingly engage the alignment feature. Portions of the elastically deformable alignment element when inserted into the alignment feature elastically deform to an elastically averaged final configuration that aligns the first component relative to the second component in at least two of four planar orthogonal directions.

    摘要: An elastically averaged alignment system includes a first component having first and second alignment features, and a second component having third and fourth elastically deformable alignment elements. The first and second components are laterally slidably engageable with each other. The third elastically deformable alignment element is configured and disposed to interferingly, deformably and matingly engage with the first alignment feature. The fourth elastically deformable alignment element is configured and disposed to interferingly, deformably and matingly engage with the second alignment feature. Portions of the third and fourth elastically deformable alignment elements when engaged with respective ones of the first and second alignment features elastically deform to an elastically averaged final configuration that aligns the first component relative to the second component in six orthogonal directions by averaging the elastic deformation of the respective elastically deformable alignment elements.
