Abstract:
A surface cooler includes a conduit, a body having an external surface, and a plurality of fin members arranged in an array of fin members. The conduit defines an inlet, an outlet, and an internal flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet. The conduit is configured to channel a flow of fluid to be cooled from the inlet to said outlet. The conduit extends through the body. Each fin member of the array of fin members extends from the external surface of the body. Each fin member is fabricated from a thermally conductive resilient and pliable material.
Abstract:
A heat exchange sub-system and fluid processing system is provided containing an inlet header; an outlet header; a plurality of heat exchange tubes in fluid communication with the inlet header and outlet header. The heat exchange tubes are configured to exchange heat with a cold ambient environment. A liquid-gas separator is coupled to the outlet header. The heat exchange sub-system is configured to receive a hot gaseous fluid comprising condensable and non-condensable components, and to condense at least a portion of the condensable components. The system is configured such that the cold ambient subsea environment serves as a heat sink.
Abstract:
A heat exchanging device is presented. The heat exchanging device includes an inlet header configured to receive a working fluid. Further, the heat exchanging device includes at least one coil segment having a first end and a second end, where the first end of the at least one coil segment is coupled to the inlet header and configured to receive the working fluid from the inlet header. In addition, the heat exchanging device includes an outlet header coupled to the second end of the at least one coil segment and configured to receive the working fluid from the at least one coil segment. Also, the heat exchanging device includes at least one propeller disposed proximate to the at least one coil segment and configured to propel subsea water across the at least one coil segment to control a temperature of the working fluid in the outlet header.
