Abstract:
Systems and devices configured to determine misalignment of targets of a rotating shaft by monitoring axial and radial aspects of targets and the shaft. In one embodiment, a target monitoring system includes a first horizontal probe communicatively connected to at least one first horizontal target connected to the shaft, and a first axial probe located adjacent to the first horizontal probe and communicatively connected to the first horizontal target. The system also includes a second horizontal probe communicatively connected to at least one second horizontal target connected to the shaft, and a second axial probe located adjacent to the second horizontal probe and communicatively connected to the second horizontal target. The system may further include an end probe disposed proximate a first end of the shaft for monitoring axial movement of the shaft, and a computing device communicatively connected to the end probe and each horizontal and axial probe.
Abstract:
A system for attaching a probe to a casing of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The system may include a probe receptacle attachable to the casing. The probe receptacle may include an internal bore, a bayonet slot, a spring disposed within the internal bore adjacent to the bayonet slot, and a sealing surface within the internal bore. The system also may include a probe attachment assembly disposed about the probe and configured to engage the probe receptacle. The probe attachment assembly may include at least one bayonet positionable within the bayonet slot and a seal positionable adjacent to the sealing surface within the internal bore.
Abstract:
A splicer device is disclosed herein. The splicer device includes a main body having an internal passage formed between a first end of the main body and a second end of the main body. The first end of the main body is configured to receive at least one first wire, and the second end of the main body is configured to receive at least one second wire. A window is disposed within the main body and in communication with the internal passage between the first end of the main body and the second end of the main body for accessing and splicing the at least one first wire and the at least one second wire.

Abstract:
A system for cooling a probe disposed about a hot gas path is disclosed herein. The system may include a probe holder having a main body including an inner passage, an intermediate passage, and an outer passage. The intermediate passage and the outer passage may be in fluid communication. The probe may be disposed within the inner passage of the probe holder. The probe may include an internal passage. The system also may include a first cooling circuit in fluid communication with internal passage of the probe. Moreover, the system may include a second cooling circuit having an inlet in fluid communication with the intermediate passage and an outlet in fluid communication with the outer passage.
Abstract:
The present application provides a method of repairing a turbine blade. The method may include the steps of removing an existing tip cap from the turbine blade in whole or in part, machining the turbine blade to form a machined groove, positioning an insert in the machined groove, welding the insert to the turbine blade, and brazing the turbine blade.
