In an apparatus at a spinning room machine, especially a carding machine, cleaner or the like, for drawing a clothing onto a roller using a roller drive unit, which apparatus comprises a drive motor arranged to be in drive connection with the roller drive unit or with at least one roller of the machine, the drive motor co-operates with a rotary speed adjustment device. In order to allow, by simple means, automatic matching of the actual value of the speed of rotation to a prespecified value of the speed of rotation, the drive motor co-operates with a closed-loop rotary speed control device which is incorporated into the control and regulation device of the spinning room machine.

An apparatus for generating measuring values representing the thickness of a coherent fiber material, includes an optical device having a light transmitter emitting a light beam and a light detector, an arrangement for guiding the fiber material between the light transmitter and the light detector and a device for processing signals generated by the light detector. The light detector comprises an image processing CCD member aligned with the light beam emitted by the light transmitter.

A method of selectively supplying fiber material from an output of a fiber bale opener to a plurality of fiber processing lines each formed of a series of fiber processing machines, includes the steps of removing fiber by the bale opener sequentially from bales of different fiber types; supplying predetermined fiber processing lines with predetermined types of fiber by the bale opener; sensing a fiber quantity requirement of the fiber processing line while being supplied with fiber by the bale opener while the latter simultaneously performs fiber removal from the bales of a predetermined fiber type; interrupting the fiber removal at that location of the bale opener where it is situated when the fiber processing line then supplied with fiber, signals satisfaction of fiber requirement; and resuming fiber removal of the predetermined fiber type at the mentioned location upon a signal for fiber requirement by the fiber processing line supplied at the time of interruption.

An electronic pressure responsive switch comprises an activating element and at least two sensors. The activating element and the sensors are arranged to be relatively displaceable with respect to one another whereby the sensors each generate signals when the activating element assumes a predetermined position relative to a respective sensor. The switch further has an elastic diaphragm having a first face exposed to pressure to be sensed and a reverse second face carrying either the activating element or the sensors. The diaphragm is deformable by the pressure whereby the relative position between the activating element on the one hand and the sensors on the other hand is varied as a function of the pressure.

In order to achieve a substantially increased drive output and braking output and a high torque in a simple manner, an electromotive drive means is present having a rotor and a stator which are integrated into the roller and into an immobile machine element associated with the roller.

The spinning room machine has an electronic control and regulation device together with a drive control, which is used for controlling the speed of rotation of the processing device. In order to control and/or regulate all functions of or for the processing device using means that are simple in terms of equipment, control and/or regulation of or for the processing device is integrated into the control and regulation device of the spinning room machine, functional elements of or for the processing device and the control and regulation device of the spinning room machine being capable of exchanging signals.

An apparatus at a spinning room machine, especially a spinning preparation machine, for example a carding machine or draw frame, for visual signal display, has at least two light sources in the form of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), each of which is associated with a cover, the signal display—which is in communication with a control device—being capable of emitting signals of light of different colours. In order to provide an apparatus which especially is of simple construction and allows a reduced outlay in terms of manufacture and installation, a plurality of light-emitting diodes or lighting means, which are located inside a clear or opaque cover, are capable of emitting coloured or white light corresponding to the particular operating situation of the spinning room machine.

A drawing frame includes an inlet measuring organ sensing a property of a plurality of slivers as they are simultaneously introduced into the drawing frame and emitting a measuring signal representing a magnitude of the property; a regulating drawing unit including a plurality of drawing rolls defining a drawing region along which the slivers are drafted as they run through the drawing frame, a drive for rotating the drawing rolls and a control arrangement for regulating the drive as a function of the measuring signal for varying the draft of the slivers in the drawing region such that mass fluctuations in the slivers are equalized. The control arrangement changes the measuring signal into an actual control signal as a function of operational conditions to compensate for influences derived from the operational conditions and affecting measuring results. The control signal is applied to the drive.

A textile machine has a rotary part, an openable and closable cover having a closed position in which access to the rotary part is prevented and an open position in which access to the rotary part is allowed. There are further provided a lock having a bolted position in which the cover is locked in the closed position and an unbolted position in which the cover is allowed to be moved into the open position and a standstill monitor for sensing rotation and standstill of the rotary part. The standstill monitor is connected to the lock for placing the lock into the bolted or unbolted position. The standstill monitor comprises an incremental rotary sensor coupled to the rotary part and controlling the lock.
