By acquiring the image data corresponding to an image and performing an evaluation prior to the regular output of the image, quantitative evaluation of at least one of robustness with respect to streaking and the intensity of streaking is performed. On the basis of the results of the quantitative evaluation, at least one of a specified site of low robustness and a specified site of high intensity is extracted from the image region. On the basis of the color and position of each extracted specified site, the color scheme and layout of at least one test image on a test chart is determined.
