Abstract: An implantable device or implant is configured to be positioned within a native heart valve to allow the native heart valve to form a more effective seal. In some examples, a plurality of sutures is employed to secure frame portions of the implantable device to a connector of the implantable device. Each of the sutures can be passed through one or more eyelets of the frame portions and the connector. In some examples, an implantable device includes an actuation cap having a flexible portion or a biasing element positioned between an end portion of the actuation cap and an anchor portion of the implantable device. The flexible portion or the biasing element flex or compress responsive to forces between the connector and the actuation cap.

Abstract: Embodiments of valve repair systems, leaflet clip devices, and methods of reducing regurgitation through a native heart valve are disclosed. A valve repair system can include a delivery apparatus and a leaflet clip device that is coupled to the delivery apparatus. The leaflet clip device can comprise an elongated clipping member, and a tensioning mechanism. One or more tensioning members are operatively connected to the tensioning mechanism to transform the clipping member from a delivery configuration to an implantation configuration. The one or more tensioning members can include a first tensioning member having a distal end portion that is connected to a first end portion of the clipping member and a second tensioning member having a distal end portion that is connected to a second end portion of the clipping member.

Abstract: In one representative embodiment, an implantable prosthetic device comprises a spacer body portion configured to be disposed between native leaflets of a heart, and an anchor portion configured to secure the native leaflets against the spacer body portion. The prosthetic device can be movable between multiple configurations. The spacer body can be made from braided, self-expandable metallic thread. A delivery apparatus can have a first shaft and a second shaft, wherein movement of the first shaft relative to the second shaft moves the anchor portion relative to the spacer body.

Abstract: This application relates to methods, systems, and apparatus for replacing native heart valves with prosthetic heart valves and treating valvular insufficiency. In a representative embodiment, a support frame configured to be implanted in a heart valve comprises a main body formed by formed by a plurality of inner members forming an inner clover and a plurality of outer members forming an outer clover. The support frame can include gaps located between inner members of the plurality of inner members and outer members of the plurality of outer members. The inner clover can be radially inside the outer clover, and the outer clover can have larger dimensions than the inner clover. The support frames herein can be radially expandable and collapsible.

Abstract: A valve repair device for repairing a native heart valve of a patient includes a pair of clasps, a pair of paddles, and a coupler. The clasps and paddles are configured to attach to native valve leaflets of the heart valve. The coupler is mechanically connected to the paddles. The coupler is configured to move the paddles between a partially open position and a closed position. The coupler is configured to move freely such that ends of the pair of paddles move away from one another when the native valve leaflets open during a diastolic phase of a cardiac cycle and the ends of the pair of paddles move toward one another when the native valve leaflets close during a ventricular systole of the cardiac cycle.

Abstract: A system for implanting a repair device onto a native valve of a natural heart to repair the native valve of a patient during a non-open-heart procedure. The system includes a base assembly having a plurality of pivoting links, a pair of paddles attached to the base assembly, a pair of gripping members attached to the base assembly, and at least one coaptation or spacer element disposed between the pair of gripping members. Movement of the pivoting links of the base assembly causes the paddles to move between an open position and a closed position. The paddles and the gripping members are configured to attach to valve leaflets of the patient. The coaptation or spacer element is configured to fill at least a portion of a gap between the valve leaflets of the patient.

Abstract: A prosthetic valve assembly includes a support structure and a valve component. The support structure includes a first frame and a sealing member. The first frame includes a lumen extending between inflow and outflow ends. The sealing member extends inwardly into the lumen of the first frame and includes a first end wall defining a first orifice, a second end wall axially spaced from the first end wall and defining a second orifice, and an inner sleeve extending axially from the first end wall to the second end wall and spaced radially inwardly from the first frame. The valve component includes a second frame and a valve structure supported inside of the second frame for permitting blood flow through the valve component in one direction and blocking blood flow in the opposite direction. The valve component is configured to expand within and engage the inner sleeve of the sealing member.
