Abstract:
An augmented broadcasting metadata (ABM) transmission apparatus is provided, which includes a metadata generation unit to generate ABM which is necessary for augmented content to be overlapped with broadcasting content; and a metadata transmission unit to transmit the ABM to a user terminal.
Abstract:
An augmented broadcasting stream transmission device and method and an augmented broadcasting service providing device and method capable of ensuring that augmented broadcasting metadata arrive at a receive terminal in a time more rapid as compared to a corresponding video frame by a predetermined time are provided.
Abstract:
A network management apparatus and method for remotely controlling a state of an IT device in order to use WOL to change a remote device from an inactive state to an active state over an IP network. The network management apparatus includes a detection pattern generator, a remote state controller, and a wake-up cause analyzer. By activating an inactivated PC connected over an IP network and positioned at a remote site using WOL to control a state of another IT device interoperating through the IP network as well as a state of the PC, it is possible to inactivate the device without unnecessarily having to leave the device on and then control the device as necessary, thereby reducing power consumption of the device and extending a lifetime of the device.
Abstract:
A method of acquiring an Internet protocol (IP) address to control a standby mode of a set-top box, and the set-top box and a power management server performing the method are disclosed. The method may include determining whether a state of the set-top box changes from a broadcasting state in which a broadcasting service is provided to a passive standby state in which a network connection between the set-top box and a headend providing the broadcasting service is blocked, receiving state information associated with an IP address allocated to the set-top box for the network connection in response to the state of the set-top box changing to the passive standby state, and transmitting, to the set-top box, a state change command to maintain the network connection for the IP address allocated to the set-top box based on the received state information.
Abstract:
Provided is a random backoff apparatus and method for receiving augmented content that may prevent a delay or a down of a server caused by a plurality of receiving terminals accessing a server simultaneously, when a digital broadcasting system provides broadcast-based bidirectional broadcasting services over a communication network. That is, a technology for distributing receiving terminals accessing a server to receive augmented content, or accessing a home page of a corresponding program, based on metadata transferred from the digital broadcasting system to a broadcasting network. In a bidirectional digital method, a number of requests for access to the home page or the augmented content related to the program may be received from receiving terminals at one time. Accordingly, there is a desire for a method of preventing collision caused when a plurality of stations simultaneously access a single wireless channel.
Abstract:
The system for providing targeting augmented contents includes: an augmented metadata generation apparatus that generates augmented metadata designating specific space and time of broadcast contents as an augmented area; a broadcast content providing apparatus that transmits the augmented metadata to a first broadcast terminal apparatus and transmits the augmented metadata and the broadcast contents to a second broadcast terminal apparatus; a first broadcast terminal apparatus that transmits augmented contents displayed in the augmented area in which the augmented metadata are designated to the augmented content providing apparatus; an augmented content providing apparatus that transmits the augmented contents to a second broadcast terminal apparatus; and a second broadcast terminal apparatus that receives the broadcast contents and the augmented metadata from the broadcast content providing apparatus and receives the augmented contents from the augmented content providing apparatus based on the augmented metadata.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a media content reception method for providing augmenting media contents using graphic objects, including: receiving metadata including information representing each event of any one of broadcast contents or moving picture contents, and any one of the broadcast contents or the moving picture contents and graphic object related information associated with events, the events including at least one of a specific scene, a specific situation, and a specific phenomenon of any one of the broadcast contents or the moving picture contents; analyzing the received metadata; designating the graphic objects to correspond to each event within any one of the broadcast contents or the moving picture contents based on the analyzed metadata; and displaying the designated graphic objects to meet each event at the time of playing any one of the broadcast contents or the moving picture contents.
Abstract:
An audience selection type augmented broadcasting service providing apparatus and method is provided. The audience selection type augmented broadcasting service providing apparatus may include an augmented broadcast producing server to process a production process of augmented contents to provide the augmented broadcasting service, for broadcast contents, a broadcasting server to multiplex and transmit the broadcast contents and metadata for the augmented broadcasting service, and an augmented content receiving terminal to process the augmented contents based on the metadata for the augmented broadcasting service, while playing the broadcast contents.
