Abstract:
A method of preparing a feed additive composition comprising: (a) admixing at least one proline tolerant tripeptidyl peptidase predominantly having exopeptidase activity wherein said proline tolerant tripeptidyl peptidase is capable of cleaving tri-peptides from the N-terminus of peptides having (i) (A) Proline at P1; and (B) An amino acid selected from alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, valine or synthetic amino acids at P1; or (ii) (a′) Proline at P1′; and (b′) An amino acid selected from alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, valine or synthetic amino acids or amines at P1′; and one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of a salt, polyol including sorbitol and glycerol, wheat or a wheat component, sodium acetate, sodium acetate trihydrate, potassium sorbate Talc, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), benzoate, sorbiate, 1,3-propane diol, glucose, parabens, sodium chloride, citrate, metabisulfite, formate or a combination thereof; and (b) optionally packaging as well as uses of such proline tolerant tripeptidyl peptidases, feed additive compositions, feed additive kits, feeds or feedstuffs and/or premixes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of producing keratin hydrolysate comprising the steps of: i) reacting keratin material with a protease; and ii) reacting keratin material with a chemical oxidant; wherein step ii occurs: a) after step i); b) during step i) when the selected protease hydrolyses under the pH conditions used for the chemical reaction and/or c) prior to step i) when the selected protease hydrolyses under the reaction conditions used for the chemical reaction; keratin hydrolysate so produced and uses thereof.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods for improving the digestibility of high-moisture grain feed and/or rehydrated grain feed for animals which comprises a) processing the grain feed into fragments and b) contacting the grain feed fragments of step (a) with at least one starch hydrolase which is stable and active at a pH less than 5.0, optionally at least one protease, in combination with at least one inoculant comprising at least one bacterial strain.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a fermented milk product. The method comprises the steps of treating a milk substrate with a low pH sensitive peptidase and a microorganism, and allowing the treated milk substrate to ferment to produce the fermented milk product.
Abstract:
The present invention relate to a method for producing keratin hydrolysate comprising the step of: i) admixing keratin material with a protease and a non-sulphur containing surfactant, as well as keratin hydrolysate so produced and uses thereof.
