Abstract: The invention provides an ethylene homopolymer formed from a free-radical, high pressure polymerization process in a tubular reactor system, said homopolymer comprising the following properties: (A) a density from 0.9190 to 0.9250 g/cc; (B) a hexane extractable level that is less than, or equal to, 2.6 wt %, based on the total weight of the polymer; (C) a G′ (at G″=500 Pa, 170 C) that meets the following equation: G′≥D+E[log (I2)], where D=150 Pa and E=−60 Pa/[log(dg/min)]; and (D) a melt in dex (I2) from 1.0 to 20 dg/min.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a linear low density polyethylene composition, tapes, fibers and filaments, artificial turfs, and method of making the same. The linear low density polyethylene composition according to the present disclosure exhibits each of the following properties: (1) a CEF fraction from 70 to 90° C. of equal to or greater than 80% of the total CEF fractions; (2) a melt index, I2, measured according to ASTM D 1238 (2.16 kg @190° C.), in the range of equal to or greater than 2.0 g/10 min and equal to or less than 5.0 g/10 min; and (3) a melt flow ratio, I10/I2, of equal to or less than 6.7.

The ethylene-based polymer includes a melt viscosity ratio (V0.1/V100) at 190 C greater than 20. The V0.1 is the viscosity of the ethylene-based polymer at 190 C at a frequency of 0.1 radians/second, and the V100 is the viscosity of the ethylene-based polymer at 190 C at a frequency of 100 radians/second. Additionally, the ethylene-based polymer includes an average g greater than 0.86, where the average g′ is an intrinsic viscosity ratio determined by gel permeation chromatography using a triple detector.
